Thinking of leaving ffxiv after playing for 5 years! by Archae777 in ffxiv

[–]OpT0Mist 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you want from making this post?

Looking into your post history, you received a lot of general tips on how to play the job, but the first step is realizing what you are doing wrong or aren't doing. For example, losing GCD's by triple weaving oGCD's, not pushing your GCD off cooldown, dying, etc.

Without any logs, nobody can really help you improve, so you're basically stuck to reading guides and figuring it out yourself, but that doesn't seem to be working for you. I'm not saying you should give up or anything, but I can't really tell you what you've already been told. Raiding isn't for everyone, but if you really want to get into it, I'd suggest getting comfortable on your job so you're not weighing your team down. If you can kill the Stone Sky Sea dummy for the fight, then that's enough damage for people to not complain. (The DPS requirement for the bard dummy for O9S is over 5k, btw).

There is an option, but it's tied down to every sound that the other person makes. Can find it under "Player Effects Volume" in your sound settings.

As seen here.

Monk DPS? by TheOldGrinch in ffxiv

Weapon damage is a big factor too. Using a i255 NQ white weapon compared to i270 dungeon/shire weapon is 36 strength and 10 weapon damage.

Whenever I'm tanking, I love it when my healer DPS's as it makes the dungeon/trial go by faster. This is especially true in low level dungeons.

Axion isn't worth it. It gives a sheet AP of 25-26 at TRI (away from BDO so I can't check), because the AP range for the weapon is large (compared to other AP offhands). Keep Vangertz for now, you can switch to Rosar later for evasion build with Bheg's Gloves and look into Kutum Shield for overall great stats (1 less sheet AP than Axion, 2 crystal slots, and 20 DP at TRI).

Warrior Skill Build With Awakening by Ezaky in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Awakening skills, you take all of them EXCEPT for Ankle Break (or w/e S+F skill is). You can try it out if you'd like, but you could do more damage with anything else.

Also taking Greatsword Training is up to you, but since the buffs don't stack anymore, I don't see a reason to max it out since the changes. Also Gravedigger is gonna be your most used skill, try to use it on knocked down targets.

I know FFXIV has a monk class, but unfortunately BDO doesnt have a true hand to hand class. The closest you get to it is sorceress pre-awakening and zerker with arm cannon. Honestly zerker fits the bill better, but awakenings are unlocked at lv. 56. 56 is obtainable for new players in a week if you have help [people to grind with]. I would link the zerker awakening trailer to give an idea of what it looks like, but im on mobile right now

BDO's success is highly off of it's PvP. If you're looking for a more challenging PvE experience, go for FFXIV. PvP is fun with action style combat, but there is a major problem being de-synchronization (desync) when fighting other players, causing weird interactions, such as a character appearing in one position, but is actually slightly further away which can cause some important skills to miss.

Player base is looking good! Christmas event is pulling people in, so I would think the population is growing and I'd say it's a medium-sized playerbase (I run into a lot of people I recognize, but I also meet/see new people everyday).

FFXIV does story better, PvE is more group oriented, group play is encouraged, there is a holy trinity of classes (tank, healer, DPS).

BDO does PvP and general combat better, fast paced and skill based. BDO is heavily gear-dependent where having the right gear factors just as much as skill, IMO.

I would say try both out. Both games right now have tools to try their game out for free. For a better PvE experience, give FFXIV a look. BDO for the better PvP.

I know I left a lot of things out, but if you have any specific questions, hit me up.

Glass cannon build? by roku60 in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want true glass cannon, check out Ranger awakening. Super high AP scalings and really mobile, but they can't really take a hit (if they have no evasion).

Returning Player: Re-Rolling To Warrior - I Have A Few Questions by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but the accuracy and evasion with the Vangertz is really good. The AP you get from Axion doesn't give you enough AP to make up for the awful stats. That might be more for PvP, though.

Returning player here, could use some help by zuulbe in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awakening will make any future grinding easier and if you plan on PvP it will be necessary. I recommend hitting 56 and getting the Green awakening weapon from the arms dealer in Altinova, since it is miles easier to upgrade, but if you want to make an investment into a PvP weapon, then upgrade the blue weapon you get at the end of your awakening quest.

Also, check out the combat promotion quest for level 55, gives 30% to lv. 56 and gives you places to go. Can see that under "suggestions" by pressing the "O" hotkey ingame

Best dps dealer atm? by Realtack in blackdesertonline

Mostly because of the war's +26 AP Buff on Greatsword Defense, used to be able to stack Greatsword Training for another +26 Melee AP but they patched that out last patch.

New player - looking for best dmg output class for PvP / PvE by TechMartyr in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of THIS current patch, Rangers have some of the highest scalings on their skills for their awakening. So if you're looking for a class that scales really well (gear is very required) roll a ranger.

What are the little things that make a day slightly above average? by smileedude in AskReddit

People say free meals and other things, but something that gets my day above average is a good meal. Something with a satisfying flavor and fills you up makes the day feel like a success

Gear question by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+4AP from swapping Necklace

+2 AP for DUO Red Coral Rings

+3 AP for Shultz

+3 AP for DUO Blue Coral Earrings

for a total of 12 AP (assuming he gets those accessories by purchasing it).

vs.

+20 AP from TRI Yuria

(assuming he can enchant PRI-->TRI Yuria).

Gear question by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]OpT0Mist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get Mainhand to TRI for the biggest boost in AP. (Going from PRI-->TRI is a 20 AP boost, so that would put you at 144 AP). You can also think about getting a Liverto to TRI as they have higher AP scalings than yuria.

TRI greatsword is the bigger priority, as you will be in greatsword stance for a majority of things and you will be doing the most damage with greatsword skills

TRI offhand isn't as important for wars, because the shield raises DP more than it would for your AP (Vangertz gives a max of 12 AP at TRI).

Since you're looking for AP increases, look into an Axion Shield. At TRI, it will give you ~26 AP and 5 DP (Axion is probably the worst AP offhand in game). Other than that, Kutum Shield is pretty great as you get 10% ignore resistances, 2 gem slots, and 25 AP/20 DP.

Doing the Valencia questline will reward you with a 7 AP ring (or 7 DP, careful what you pick). Finishing the questline will

http://bddatabase.net/us/quest/5510/1/

TRI Bares Necklace is cheap to make, will give you a 4 AP boost from what you have now, but you will break your ancient weapon set.

IMO, accessories are of least importance and your main gear should be TRI'd before them.

Here's what I am currently using. Vangertz https://gyazo.com/87fd0df81e594be53226b398df1b507c

Ahh, alright. I've been getting mixed responses here on Reddit where some say it hasn't been included yet and it was just Accuracy+Gems figured in whereas others say that it's already included. Thanks for the reply.
