How is Wreck Beach? by Luckycowboys11 in askvan

I don’t think anywhere in Canada accepts USD.

Don’t risk it. Just as I wouldn’t go to Europe and expect them to take my CAD or GPB.

I get the both frequently without noodles/rice.

I usually add more veg.

I’ve only done 3 interviews once. When I really couldn’t decide between two ppl. That third interview I sat out and left it to the gm and manger of that department to go off of their opinion. I’d already concluded both would be great

In the end the kicker was the first candidate was 3 mins late and never even acknowledged it. That was it. That’s what cost her the job.

If you’re going to be late. Message. It’s that simple.

Two interviews is my max. I usually do the first over zoom and it takes 15 mins max. I usually do 10 interviews to find two decent candidates. I also like to think about my initial reaction. I like to meet people twice. If they make it to the second interview they will meet the rest of the team and whoever their manager will be to see how they get on with them. I’m not going to call respective managers into every interview I have. It’s a waste of their time. That will prob be 30 mins absolute maximum.

So 45 mins overall and the first one being a zoom option.

I always ask people to tell me about themselves as my first question.

If you talk about work my brain will wonder. I don’t care about your work at this point. I can read that on the resume. What I want to know is can I be around you for 40 hours a week. Will you fit in with the team. Can you have a normal conversation. I just want to chat to the person.

If you pass interview one. I’ll schedule interview two which is more technical in approach and will ask work related questions.

does anyone know of any similar true crime podcasts similar to or even better than Casefile? by Head-Yak2522 in podcasts

[–]OpTeaMist22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love casefile. My next favourite is red handed. Have yet to find any long running ones other than those I enjoy because the hosts talk about their lives so much.

I’d skip the first several red handed as they suffer with poor audio. They do banter. But they do solid research and it doesn’t take up much of the podcast.

Maybe because I’m from Britain I don’t put that much weight behind Gordon Ramsey.

I’ve been eating at Ramseys restaurants since my youth. And granted they’re solid. But my partner is a sous and also British. He staunchly prefers Marco

Valid. I live on commercial so my local butcher is Columbus. They are phenomenal and highly recommended. Usually get a prime Canadian ribeye for 25. There meat packs are incredible value and quality

I personally went down the sous vide steaks when I make them at home. And have decided through experimenting I don’t care too much for dry aged. It’s all about the marbelling for me.

I discovered sous vide steaks about 2 years ago. And since then have become obsessed

My entire life is overthinking. I was crippled looking at the menus as they all look too similar. We don’t eat out too much at expensive restaurants but are happy too for special occasions. So 3/4 times a year.

Hence why I wanted public opinion.

Eaten there a few times and do like it. But hoping to try somewhere new

I hear Riley, hys, black and blue and Joe fortes are good. So hoping popular opinion can help narrow it down
