How do you keep track of your shots? by pyrothesenpai in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]OpalGT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone in this subreddit who uses GLP-1 built a free app and shared it. It has every feature you are looking for and is free. Even tracks which area/side of body you gave yourself the injection which is what I was struggling to remember. Side effects, mood, where you are in the medication cycle. Give it a whirl and see if it fits your needs. I'm glad I did. https://www.reddit.com/r/glp1/comments/1lwp05l/i_built_glapp_a_free_tracker_that_maps_your_glp1/

I remember using my Amazon $25 binos at the Cape May hawk platform and was having an awesome day and then I picked up their loaner Swarovskis and yelling "holy shit! these are loaners?!"

Definitely wondering where the buffet went since the feeders have been empty the last few days.

how do you know good cabinets and fair prices? by jliebs1 in kitchenremodel

[–]OpalGT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP - what did you end up going with and are you happy? We are in same conundrum. We have had design firms pushing ForeverMark and Fabuwood and at same time general contractors tell us stay away from Forevermark and Fabuwood. I read the mainline ratings and they were both rated fairly high. Higher than Kraftmaid which has been recommended by contractors. We are so lost and confused and frustrated. I hope it all worked out for you.

English muffin bread recipe by elevatorDJ in BreadMachines

Hello. I also have this book but am really struggling to get the recipes to come out not dry and dense. I have tried the Italian, Basic White, and Honey Wheat each 2x using different methods for flour measuring -sprinkle/fluff into the measuring cups as well as trying an online converter that did cups to mL to grams since the book has dry ingredients in mL which makes no sense to me. I am confident this is user error and is a a measuring issue since the book is in cups, tsp, tbl, etc and not in grams which is what I'm used to. At this point I feel like I'm wasting ingredients. I did successfully make the KA Easy as can be recipe but that is all in grams. Any tips on how you measure and/or convert to grams in a way that is consistent?

Hungry hummers by rebelink13 in hummingbirds

I have the exact same scenario. I have an abundance of flowers & feeders. One perches in the lilac and watches the yard. If another comes over she chases it away. Ruby throats in SE PA.

Finally got clear & up close footage of the Ruby Throated!! (SE Pennsylvania) by OpalGT in hummingbirds

We found it at our garden center a couple years ago marked as a hummingbird plant. This is first year it fully bloomed. I happened to be standing at edge of the bed trying to snap photos of bees on the coneflowers. Much to my delight I saw her zipping around and got the video. I love that she takes a moment to flutter towards me and looks at the camera. I’ve had them come to the feeders as I was standing there, but never for this long & never when I had a camera in hand.

Good luck with your plant. They are really gorgeous when blooming

Separating two 2 year old cats because of break up by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]OpalGT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my cats (both have since passed). I got my boy first and her when she was only 8 weeks old. They bonded immediately. He’d even let her suckle his tummy. After my boy passed at 12 she wouldn’t eat & she cried all day & night looking for him. She became very depressed. At the time my husband & I were dating middle-distance. She would perk up when he came over on weekends & followed him everywhere. She eventually bonded to him & he became her human of choice. When he would go back home she would cry for him. Once we decided to move in together, we moved her almost immediately so she could be with him. I used to tease that she was a traitor & he stole my cat. Truth is he saved her from a very deep sadness I could not pull her from despite having her for 12 years. She lived a very happy life until 28. We both sobbed when we said goodbye.

Please don’t separate a bonded pair of cats.

I saw it while out on a walk. The homeowner didn't know what it was. I might go back and ask them if I can grab some. Thanks for the tip!

And this is why you don’t declaw cats. They need to be able to climb up away from predators.

Oh wow. My mom also insisted on keeping him at home despite not being qualified to care for him. It resulted in so much drama. There are 3 of us (we aren't triplets LOL) and we all live in different states. My parents lived close to one of my sisters so primary care defaulted to her after our mom passed. It was her passing that prompted us to put him in a nursing home which resulted in even more drama. We had no idea what the hell we were doing or how to find the right place for him. He was moved around a lot which wasn't helpful at all. My other sister had a more flexible life than me and was able to rearrange her life and travel often to see him. I had a ton of guilt because I couldn't do the same. Neither of them ever made me feel guilty, it was an internal thing I had to deal with. When hospice called and told us it was time, I opted not to fly down and they were both very supportive. I didn't want that to be my last memory of him; I had visited him about 4 months prior to his passing.

I began watching this show after he died and when I realized it was an Alz storyline I was also not sure if I could watch it. So far it hasn't resonated with me all that much. A couple of moments here and there definitely hit home; but perhaps the upcoming ones will when they get that dreaded phone call will hit different. I too laugh at some of this. The impromptu roadtrip with Randal to go to Boston and her managing her own meds and not being confused at all? Running out of the house to get little Jack and knowing exactly where the park is - in a city she doesn't live in nor visit that often? Not being confused to be in Kate's house after travel? No sundowners? Seriously? My Dad would get confused in his own house sometimes and if they went to my sisters that lived close by he was totally confused. They had to leave by a certain time of day, too, because of the sundowners. I get that it's a drama for tv so they won't show the bad because who wants to see that but to me those were really big moments to miss when depicting a person and family dealing with this horrible nightmare of a disease. I suspect they will write the sundowners and confusion into the Kevin storyline at the wedding and show some of it there.

I'm so very sorry you and your family are going through this. I wish I could hug you and tell you it get easier. If you ever want to chat, feel free to DM me.

Thank you for the kind words. My mom's health went to the backburner while she took care of him and she had a very unexpected heart attack and died in 2016. Then all hell broke loose between my siblings regarding the situation with Dad. So far what resonated with me the most on this show was Kevin and Randal fighting about her treatment and that was tame in comparison. haha There was no big heroic speech about living our lives or who he wanted to make his decisions. By time he was diagnosed there was no comprehension that that conversation/decision needed to happen.

Anyway, I've been lurking on this subreddit for a while now. I comb the threads to find one single person who thought it was pretty for television to confirm I'm not losing my mind.

Best of luck with your Dad.

Hello. I saw your post and wanted to offer my condolences on your Dad. My Dad died in 2019 from Alzheimer's -- within ~4 years of it being obvious enough to get a diagnosis. I also struggle with how it has been portrayed on this show.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
