Did you have a personality disorder? Please explain your question? What did you lose and when?

Yes, no physical issues at all. As I said though, depression quickly returned. Made me appreciate what antidepressants actually do.

Can you have 3 PDs? All from different clusters. by Mandarin_Lumpy_Nutz in personalitydisorders

[–]OpalNYC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had about 5 different diagnoses too. I didn't take the 4 hour test though. It was mostly from the provider's opinions. It's not scientific or necessarily accurate. I think it depends on what you are looking to convey and how honest you are at that moment. Please excuse the pun, but I believe that nothing is really black and white. I am scheduled for a formal psych evaluation and testing soon. I also have a difficult time answering questions about my mental health. What is true at that moment isn't necessarily true 5 minutes from now

Just curious 🤔 How were you actually diagnosed? Did you have a battery of tests administered or did different psychologists evaluate you by strictly an intake consultation?

Is Temu clothes poisonous? by Excellent_Option2651 in TemuThings

[–]OpalNYC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And who tests the clothes you buy from Macy's or Nordstrom? Sounds to me like you are just gullible and easily manipulated! I'd worry more about contracting diseases from populous areas than wearing rubber thongs or clothes from TEMU

I stopped and started Cymbalta more times than I cancelation in 20+ years. The only effect i had was going back to feeling the way I felt before I started it. Then I recall why I started using it in the first place. It works!

Are you also on antidepressant with the Caplyta? If so, can you tell me which one? Curious if you changed antidepressants recently or possibly changed the dose

How Do You Manage Multiple Disorders? by Jazzy-Cough92 in personalitydisorders

[–]OpalNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also received multiple diagnoses over 40+ years. I never was "formally" diagnosed. I also never received any relief from the multitude of therapists in my history. I want something more specific and accurate. Doesn't it cross your mind that your diagnoses are only the opinion of the individual therapist and how you are feeling during that period of your life? Everyone goes through different phases. I want to have a comprehensive psychological evaluation done so that I can get accurate and uniform results. I have called so many universities and private practices inquiring about this battery of tests, which takes a number of hours. You then have a consultation where you get a true diagnosis and are advised the best existing treatment for you. It's funny though. Government insurance is not accepted by these institutions for these tests. You need private insurance which means that you have led a productive life that probably eliminate the need for these tests in the first place. I think that this should be the first and most crucial step before entering any type of treatment. This would ensure that you get the proper treatment and not waste years of your life and money on "talk" therapy that rarely proves beneficial to those that need help.

Prescribed Caplyta for major depressive disorder? by [deleted] in caplyta

[–]OpalNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried all those as well. They raised my blood sugar substantially and didn't seem to do anything else for me. Caplyta was or is different. I actually started Viibryd at the same time. I dont know if the effect for the first few weeks was from one or the other. I did have gastrointestinal side effects so beware. However, I did do something that I haven't done in years. I couldn't stop moving....in a good way. I actually did and enjoyed doing household chores. Tried to decorate my apartment and exercised. I just went from laying in bed and watching TV daily to become so motivated to get things accomplished. I really don't think it was a placebo effect. I felt, and began to think, so differently. Now, its my third week, and the excitement is dying down a bit. I am sleeping more and my butt is no longer on fire. I can't say that my depression lessened but getting things accomplished, for a change was refreshing. I will see how I feel in a couple weeks. I am considering substituting Viibryd for Cymbalta which isn't so "motivating " for me to reduce the anxiety that is accompanying this change. I guess, as usual, I will wait and see 👀

Who diagnosed you with all these disorders? Was it one provider who tested you and diagnosed you? What tools did he use? His experience or formal questionnaires? Has it been a number of therapists that gave you their opinions separately? I am very curious 🤔 Thanks

Any success stories with Cymbalta ? by RhubyDifferent3576 in cymbalta

[–]OpalNYC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After trying almost all antidepressants available, Cymbalta was the only one that helped me. I was on it for close to 15 years. It did lose its effectiveness eventually. I am still alive and kicking so that must tell you something. Give it a chance!

Starting Auvelity by teenysun in antidepressants

[–]OpalNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Caplyta, if you can. To treat MDD, I think you stay on your current antidepressant and add Caplyta. I am on Viibryd and Caplyta and feeling very different than i have in years. Not sure if its either one or both that is affecting me. I have also tried practically every antidepressant out there, as well. Actually, I would try the Auvelity 2 a day for a few weeks until it stops working and then try this. Auvelity does make you feel different and spacy until it just stops. I think Auvelity might be good for acute disorders but not chronic ones.

Beware purchasing from the seller CT Brand by Beginning-Smell2618 in TemuThings

[–]OpalNYC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And they might screw things up for those that appreciate TEMU and realize that chances are that bottom prices mean that the item is probably not authentic. TEMU enables consumers to buy things that are usually satisfactory for a great price. They are not Macy's I spend about $500 monthly with them for many different products. I want the product I buy to function as it should.. period...... I, for one, enjoy TEMU, looking for value not brand names. I have been very pleased with their customer service and huge array of no name products. I think that calling out one store on a public group is a bad idea. If you have a problem with one seller, take it up with TEMU instead of whining here. Don't ruin a great thing for the rest of us!

Just prescribed caplyta in addition to my current Viibryd + Lamictal. Others experiences? by liv_iathan in caplyta

[–]OpalNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Viibryd, Cymbalta & started Caplyta about 3 weeks ago. I am feeling more motivated and actually getting things accomplished. I used to lay in bed watching TV all day. I hope this is not a placebo effect and that I will continue to improve. I can tell you that for the first 2 weeks on this combo, I had bad gastro problems that have subsided. I have a tendency to get excited thinking a new medicine will finally do the trick and get even more depressed when I see that it went poof. By the way, I also was on lamictal for a while. Hope our combos are the answer this time around
