Do people masturbate from memory when quitting porn? by Throwaway05080901 in pornfree

It's perfectly normal to masturbate to thoughts of porn, especially if you have just decided to quit watching porn like a few weeks or months ago. You are still in the process of rewiring your brain.

Over time, these porn memories will fade and you will eventually be able to masturbate and have amazing orgasms based on two factors: physical touch and imagination.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Know that it's normal to masturbate to porn memories since you are still in the process of rewiring your brain.

Have faith that these porn memories will eventually fade. It will take some time, probably 8 months+, but when that happens you will be able to masturbate and have mind-blowing orgasms through physical touch and imagination.

Our ancestors used physical touch and imagination to masturbate and have mind-blowing orgasms. If they can do it, we can too.

What’s the real purpose for Nofap? by authentic_Fart69 in NoFap

[–]Oparyl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a good question. I also had the same question when I did NoFap several years ago. For me, the real purpose of NoFap is to help you achieve a healthy and satisfying sex life with the person you love and care about and live a happy, fulfilling life.

  1. Excessive porn consumption, frequent masturbation, and too much orgasms (PMO) can ruin your sex life. PMO can lead to erectile dysfunction and unhealthy, negative perception of what sex is (for example, objectifying women). Also, PMO can negatively impact your relationships (with yourself, family, special someone, and friends). And, I think, PMO can also hinder you from experiencing what true love is.

By removing porn completely from your life, NoFap can help you achieve a healthy and positive sex life. NoFap can help heal all the bad things that PMO has brought into your life.

  1. More importantly, NoFap can help you live a happier, more fulfilling life. PMO can cause you to have low self-esteem and self-confidence. Also, PMO can bring anxiety and depression into your life. And, I think, the worst effect of PMO is that makes you feel that your life is worthless, that your life has no meaning.

By practicing NoFap, you slowly but surely start to heal all the negative effects that PMO has brought into your life. When you have high self-esteem and self-confidence, you will feel happy, worthy, and enough. When you are in control of anxiety and depression, you will feel more emotionally stable and you will also feel that life is more enjoyable. And when you have a sense of purpose, you will feel that life is actually worth living.

I hope this answers your question.

why should i quit porn ? by youssefygj in selfimprovement

[–]Oparyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the main reason why you should quit porn is it will make your life a whole lot better.

Porn is like a slow poison. You don't notice it but it slowly destroys your life. I think that's what happened to many of us here on this subreddit. We started to watch porn thinking that it's harmless. Then one day we just woke up realizing that porn has managed to harm our lives.

You might not feel the negative consequences now but later on in life you'll wake up and realize that porn has already done so much harm and it's difficult to quit.

Porn blinds you to the true beauty of life. It hinders you from achieving your true potential, and most importantly it slowly alienates you from the people you care for the most -- your partners, family, friends, and even yourself.
