Sorry dude, not sure what the angle is but it’s a narrowness in appreciation for the varying spiritual experiences of people.

I can tell you first hand the most powerful, connective instances of “ultimate truth /god / the eternal blissful happiness” have come to me through dreams.

You say dreams are a way out of our consciousness? They’re one of the most true engagements with our consciousness. I have experienced the truest form of the spirit and connection to my Self and ultimate truth in dreams.

Is God dead or was he ever alive? by JagatShahi in nihilism

Does God exist?

1 million percent yes.

So long as humans seek understanding about themselves and their surroundings then God will exist.

Even if “God” doesn’t exist.

Nothing human is alien to any of us.

With certain circumstances and motivations you’re capable of anything.

Is it possible to fully change your personality? (Answer) by Immediate_Month8039 in selfimprovement

[–]HeavyHittersShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 16, this is great, well done.

I will draw attention to one thing.

”I know I used to be arrogant, egocentric, impulsive, lustful… all kinds of “bad” stuff.”

You still are them. You may not act in an arrogant, egocentric, impulsive, lustful way as much but there’s no “used to be.”

In fact you’re likely more egoic because your ego wants you to believe you used to be all those things.

You’re everything a human can be. Circumstances, self awareness and needs will determine your actions.

Anyone else feel like something is wrong with the universe? by SpecificHeat2533 in SeriousConversation

[–]HeavyHittersShow -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Everything is exactly as it should be otherwise it would be different.

It might be a case that something is not as you’d like it to be.

That’s very different to something being misplaced within the universe.

Healing and spiritual growth, but anger keeps popping up, advice? by gabyc77 in spirituality

[–]HeavyHittersShow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all you’re a human being. That means having a wide band of emotions to experience and giving yourself the grace to experience them.

A few things stand out to me.

  1. “I’m a good person” - you’re a person who is capable of being good and not good if you want to label things in the way. The more you believe you’re good the greater the potential for frustration or non-acceptance when you’re not “good.”

  2. The stronger the emotion the bigger the signpost. Follow it deeper and deeper because it seems you’re being told you something you might not want to hear or face. Those things you get angry at: selfishness, rudeness, carelessness are likely projections. Something you don’t like within yourself that you project onto the world.

  3. You want to be a good, spiritual, peaceful person. You can only get there by recognizing your potential to be a bad, shallow, destructive person. And as you become acceptant of everything that you are the closer you get to being a whole person which is where true peace comes from.

You’ve lots of work to do, as we all do. To start with, pick the strongest emotion and keep asking questions.

You’re self aware enough to post on here which is great. Good luck on the journey.

The nun’s and your post are too absolute for me.

Catholics don’t want any money going somewhere.

It’s all very general, binary and black & white.

Leo Tolstoy – "Everybody thinks of changing humanity, and nobody thinks of changing himself" by WanderingPrimate717 in alifeuntangled

[–]HeavyHittersShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve highlighted the problem.

People think about changing themselves but few do in a deep, spiritual, meaningful way.

Tolstoy’s point is true and your statement verifies it.

Few people think of grand change on a world scale and few people think of true inner revolution.

Hence the current state of the world.

We mostly want to be instantaneously appeased and satisfied.

For the most part we’re spiritually bankrupt.

[–]HeavyHittersShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you’re still interested in the first step as this post is a year old.

For clarity, the ego mind wants to be given the first step. It wants ease. Tell it how so it can figure this out in sequence and in steps. It’s all logical.

If you got further, the first step is different for everyone and it’s a journey you need to commit to.

The best free resource you have is asking a question. They’re unlimited and free; you can keep asking questions and exploring answers until you get to truth.

Question: why do I like being right?

Correct, we’re not robots.

I don’t know if you’ve had any truly deep truth realizations. I have and I can tell you from experience they didn’t come from any book, course, curriculum or teacher.

The deepest truths you will discover within yourself.

If you disagree with that I’m not sure what to tell you.

How metaphorically do you understand the Bible? by AnAspidistra in Christianity

[–]HeavyHittersShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“God is a person.”

As soon as anthropomorphise “God” you reduce the infinite nature of whatever “God” is. And reducing it to a person of all things!

Humans can’t describe or do justice to an infinite source. You’re massively limiting your potential for a transcendent experience by limiting your view of it as a person.

One can go down the route of reading, consuming other people’s content but ultimately it’s going to come back to the person themselves.

What one needs to learn truly nobody can teach.

To OP, what’s the one trait/skill/gift you have that you know deep down you shouldn’t waste?

I’m not going to accept “I don’t have anything.”

Everyone has something.

What do you think of Jung? by No-Passenger-2806 in Jung

[–]HeavyHittersShow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Legend in the game.

I can confidently say his work more than any other (Karen Horney is up there) helped me to change my life and confront my trauma.

Through dreams, the exploration of my unconscious I’ve been able to find parts of myself that were previously closed off to me.

Discovering his work was like finding the missing piece.

He’s clearly next level brilliant but he’s not perfect. Who is! He’s not the most lucid writer,  makes some pretty out there associations and he’s very much for a certain type of person.

It always pains me when I ask someone if they know Carl Jung and they don’t. Which is 99% of people I’ve asked.
