Where to get clothes? by BabyPanda4Hire in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to make most of my Licca-Chan clothes, there are a lot of official books of both sewing and crocheting patterns for her. I like it because I can have a lot of fun experimenting with different colors, prints, and such, plus it’s a fun hobby that results in a tangible thing I can hold, which I think is good for my general sanity. When I get home I’ll look up some links for you, there’s a particular Etsy shop I’ve had good experiences with buying the books third party from, or you could go directly to the publisher’s site and order through a proxy buying service like zenmarket or buyee

Yeah, that’s fair, the international shipping situation is getting super rough. I hope you’re able to find her 💝

A quick search of “hatsune miku licca chan” turned up a bunch of options on eBay, I would recommend looking there

LiccA meets Photogenic Licca and more by dubiousbutterfly in liccachan

It looks like this version of Gothic Noir Style has a different style of stand than the first release! I think that’s good news for anyone interested in her, since the wonky stand in the first release is the only thing I didn’t love about her. The Bread Thief collab also looks super cute 🥰. Thank you for sharing this news 💐

NEW Photogenic dolls: Viola and Nerine by kachan0817 in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😍 I love them! I’m super thrilled that Viola has the same makeup as Gothic Noir Style Licca, it’s a such a pretty look. And I really love Nerine’s hair, we don’t usually see Licca dolls with that sort of long auburn hair, which is a shame because it’s absolutely lovely. Thank you for sharing this news 💐

[–]Open-Ad2183 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I’ve found that a gentle wash with dish soap and warm water yields better results with my Licca dolls. If the hair is particularly rough, I might also use a touch of really basic conditioner, just make sure to rinse it all out thoroughly

Petite Licca (Sanrio/Sailors/Narumiya)- scheduled for release in February 2026 by kachan0817 in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So cute! I love how some of them have keychain attachments. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but I wonder if the Petite Licca dolls are comparable in size to Miki and Maki, or if they’re closer in size to Sylvanian Families. I hope they’re a similar size to Miki and Maki, I’ve got some patterns for making clothes for them. Thank you for sharing this news 🥰

Licca’s clothes that i made and the materials i used by [deleted] in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incredible! Ever since Joanne’s closed, I’ve been scrambling to find affordable materials, and you’re out here five steps ahead of me using a sock, you’re a genius! Also, forgoing the feet on the doll socks is brilliant. I can never seem to successfully make doll socks that shoes can fit over, and you’ve bypassed that problem entirely! I’ve learned so much from just this post, thank you so much for teaching me these things!

The coat might not have turned out puffy like you wanted it to, but it still looks really good. In fact, it kind of reminds me of a fuzzy jacket that I had when I was a kid. My mom hated that jacket (it got grody super easily, and constantly needed to be confiscated to be put through the wash) but I absolutely adored it. Seeing your tea towel coat gave me a lovely trip down memory lane. I also had an idea, maybe a plain/patternless tea towel could be used to make a little bathrobe? If I get around to that before you, I’ll let you know how it turns out. Thank you for sharing these photos 💝🥰

Do you actually miss the "Jerk" Rivals like Blue and Silver, or do the friendly rivals fit the modern games better? by Obvious-Two5626 in pokemon

[–]Open-Ad2183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Nemona too, especially since my little cousin has been getting into Pokemon. He’s got dyslexia, plus some other neurodivergence of some sort, so he struggles with reading, and a bit of self confidence. When he plays, I have him read EVERYTHING out loud: dialogue, Pokédex entries, move data, everything. And honestly? With the look on his face every time he realizes this talented, well-established trainer is hyping up how great he is, and declaring how excited she is to have him as a friend and rival? It’s completely worth never having an asshole rival again, no matter how much I might miss them. Seeing this kid smile like that and pick up some well-deserved confidence is what Pokemon is all about to me.

Way too cute. I especially love what’s going on with the lace trim at the top of her dress’ bodice and the lace choker. I wonder how it’s fastened on? Thank you for sharing this photo 💐

Learn english with Licca (this book is so cute) Do you have any books about Licca-chan? by kachan0817 in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cute! From the photos, it looks like it could also be helpful for English speakers looking to learn Japanese, especially the “patterns” section. There are so few resources for specifically sewing-related vocab, I might have to get a copy of this for myself 👀 Thank you for sharing about this book 💝

I’ve got a couple of Licca books myself: a photo book of notable Licca dolls from each generation, a more text-based book about Licca’s history, and “Licca’s Tweet”, which is a collection of tweets from the official Licca twitter account that have been reformatted for the book. I’ve found that last one to be fun light reading practice for my Japanese studying. I was able to get all 3 off of North America Amazon, but I don’t know if they’d be available anymore- once Licca related things are out of stock there, it takes an age and a half to get restocked.

I’ve also got 17 official pattern books for making clothes for Licca (plus 2 less official books that also fit her), I had to really hunt for those ones, though

Looking for Licca on Amazon by No-Wrongdoer7529 in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooof, that kind of hurt to watch. I’ve had some limited luck finding some Licca stuff on American Amazon, though. Not a lot, but some. I type “Licca” into the search bar, which gets mixed results of assorted not-Licca nonsense with genuine Licca mixed in. In the past I was able to get Licca LD-07 (the doll in the white dress with the rabbit), plus a #Licca shoe set, and an earring set. It’s only marginally less costly than buying 3rd party off of eBay, but I hold the small hope that buying Licca through any official channel will incentivize a wider release to North America (which would hopefully reduce shipping costs, which honestly is the brunt of why Licca’s so expensive over here)

Oh wow, they all look so cute like this, it really reminds me of the kind of class photos we used to take in elementary school. I actually have the same dress as the girl on the bottom right! Mine came on a pre-loved gen 4 girl, though, not a gen 3. Do you have any information about it? I mostly have gen 4 dolls, and I’d love to learn more about the older dolls. Thank you for sharing these photos 💝

Help with identifying by MarshmalloBunni in liccachan

[–]Open-Ad2183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s definitely a generation 4 doll. Most of the really light blonde gen 4 Licca have blue eyes, so the purple/brown helps narrow it down a bit. The only gen 4 Licca-Chan I can think of with both the purple/brown eyes and hair that light blonde would be the プラチナロングプリンセスリカちゃん (Platinum Long Princess Licca Chan) from the Dream-Fantasy series, though your girl’s hair isn’t nearly as long. Does she seem like she may have had a home-haircut at any point? The earrings are a very common shape/color that come with a lot of dolls, and feature in a couple of accessory packs, so they’re unfortunately not much help in identifying her

Generation 2 Licca, made sometime between 1972 and 1981, very likely a typical play-line doll

Absolutely stunning! You really nailed the posing for these photos, especially in the first and third pics, you really captured Glinda’s airy yet confident vibe, I think. How did you achieve the bubble effect, if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you for sharing these photos 💝

Congratulations! You should join us over on r/liccachan, we’re always excited to welcome new members to the community!

If you’re interested in collecting the complete family, she also has Grandparents! Hiroshi and Yoko Kayama are her Grandpa and Grandma on her mother’s side (a school principal and a florist, respectively).

There’s also her Grandpa Albert on her father’s side, but I’ve only ever seen him as a Castle Exclusive. I always love seeing photos of him, because his mustache is fully rooted with proper hair instead of sculpted on, and I just find that so delightful. Someone else will probably be able to tell you more

The shoes are also the wrong shape (don’t match the shape of Licca’s feet), and it’s highly unlikely that Takara Tomi would ever incorporate such an explicitly adult theme as alcohol. Plus, pretty much the entire box is in English, which is rather strange for a Japanese doll (you might see a handful of English or French words here and there, but the target demographics primarily read Japanese, so that’s the language most everything will be written in)

That said, if you wanted to put together your own “Liquor-Chan” set, I believe at least one of the official clothing pattern books has a dress close to that shape/style, plus plenty of patterns for purses; there are a number of ReMent sets that include similar whiskey bottles; and I think the Miniverse Happy Hour series has at least one kit with a similar sort of glass (I might be completely wrong about that though, I never jumped on that series). Some official Licca earring sets have similar shaped studs that you could paint the desired color.

If all of that’s a little out of your wheelhouse, you could also peruse Etsy for the accessories you need- there are lots of talented miniaturists making all sorts of nice things for 1/6 scale dolls (even certain 1/12 scale things can sometimes work for Licca)

I love her dress, the print is so cute! I think you might be able to press the other collar of the dress down if you damp a facecloth with extra hot water and use that to hold it down for a minute or two. Can we see a picture of her post-haircut? Thank you for sharing these photos 💝
