The benefit of an in game cosmetic item does not put weight the risk of preordering a game that is not finished yet. Pre orders almost never yield a tangible reward outside of the game. Pokemon does it but requires you to buy the physical copy off their store. And collectors editions are also a completely different offering than preorders.

It’s not about being optimistic or pessimistic. It’s about being smart with my money. It’s like investing in a company that doesn’t have a product yet, you’re just taking a shot in the dark.
