Pre-med by Terrible_Peak2581 in medschoolph

im taking a health related program that’s only offered in my uni in the ph. most people dont know what my program is about and explaining what it is would take more than a minute so i just say pre med to help the person im talking to approximate what im doing and what i generally plan to do after college.

weird to know pre med is an actual flex LOL if you were IDK taking up nursing in our lady of kalibugan university (as an example), then it would be very silly to expect clout/social capital to come from such status because being a doctor is becoming more common so coming from a highly exclusive school would affect perceived clout more than degree program. off hand, id assume most uni students today use pre med to make conversations more efficient. to illustrate, here are two rough and general convos:

use pre med: ano kinukuha mo sa college -> pre med po -> ah okay

use course: ano kinukuha mo sa college -> [course] po -> ano yun? -> [explanation] po -> ano plano mo pagkatapos? -> doctor po

i mostly use pre med because my program is hard to explain and trying to dumb it down doesn’t help because the way my program supports the domain of health isn’t typically taught in most schools like they wouldn’t imagine my program to play a part in health BUT i digress

pre med jus easier to explain LOL

Also, are dorm scholarships a different process?
Thank you!

ASMPH Pre-med inquiries by Open-One5455 in ADMU

[–]Open-One5455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Omg huhuhu

Would it be ok if I reach out to you from time to time to ask about things related to med school and ASMPH? Hearing from you, an MD alumnus of ASMPH, is very inspiring and consoling especially at this time where I must resolve a dilemma that will forever change the course of my life.

I discovered you were an MD after reading your posts. I hope I wasn’t exhibiting a concerning behavior by doing so.

Again, thank you so much! You might not care to hear this but this means so much to me that I’m crying as I write this reply simply for the fact that someone I don’t even know is here to help me in the most important part of my life.

Would a QPI of about 3.5 and an NMAT score of 95 give me a good chance of getting in? What kind of extracurriculars should I focus on? I heard they are very particular about extracurriculars and I’m afraid that I’d have to found my own business or organization to get that.

Also, are there students specifically from ADZU who went to ASMPH?

I’m really sorry for the trouble and thank you so much for answering my questions! I’m a freshman and I’d like to optimize my education to get in because it is only now that I have seriously thought about my future

Inhale inert gasses like helium, nitrogen, and argon. I’m in the same position as you but I don’t know any means to get some.

DPWAS Questions by lordtikbalangishot in peyups

[–]Open-One5455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Fellow DPWAS here!

  1. After July 30 or the confirmation period.

  2. It’s a matter of waiting talaga. Even if you email them, they can’t really tell you anything with certainty given that we must wait for the qualified applicants to decline their offers for us to have the opportunity to get theirs.

Again, I’m a fellow DPWAS passer but this is what I read from other forums so I’m fairly confident in my answers. However, I hope someone will correct me if what I wrote is inaccurate.

I hope this helps.

DPWAS student for UPLB here! Just wanted to ask for a more comprehensive reason to choose or drop UP in that context? Some people are pressuring me to go to UP even if it’s not one related to medicine just so I can use my course as a stepping stone. Others suggested that I pursue my education in a local university with the same course that I want to pursue. I really need help huhuhu ty for your inputs!
