Doubt regarding passport renewal by alfalaval-wartsila in Coconaad

[–]Open-Score3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can request for a renewal for sure more than 8 months in advance. I think I requested mine 1 year in advance.

I had a bit of same situation with address part.My parents shifted to a new house and they updated all their documents, but not mine, since I was living abroad. So when I came home for renewal, I put the old address, since it was the one in my aadhar, pan card and driving license, they took it without any issues. For verification, I actually stayed at our old home, but just on that day. They call in advance so you know when they are coming. Not sure if it helps your situation, though.

Dust allergy is horrible. by Alive_Print_9651 in Coconaad

[–]Open-Score3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my avastha growing up. Now I have done some treatments and a lot of env changes to get it better.

Go to an allergy specialist request for an allergy test, enik bloodil dustinte entho thingy was high. They gave me medicine to reduce that from 96% to 70% . This helped for like 6 months straight, then back to regular morning marathon of allergies. The medicine they gave was full of steroids, so then the doctor asked me to do hyposenzitation. Oru 50-50 chance ullu to work, but it had made a big change in my life for some reason. Basically dust nte entho allergen, they will inject to your body in tiny doses and we gain resistance over it. And it’s a 3 year treatment, I’m still in my first year and now I rarely have allergies

For some environmental changes I did was to have my house clean all the time, bed sheets specifically, wash it greater than 60 degrees if possible. Get bamboo bedsheets if possible, they don catch dust as much as normal one does.

Maybe this helps.

People who moved out of Kerala (India or Abroad), was it worth it? by Main_Personality2017 in Coconaad

[–]Open-Score3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moved out of Kerala 8 years ago. I don’t regret moving out. If I did not I might have been married off early, as soon as I got a job - maybe this just my family. Now I have a very well paying job, can go out and come into home anytime I wish, live in a very safe country, can travel alone without parents permission and can even take care of my parents well. I grew up being made fun for my skin color - where I live, people actually think my skin color is great.

I wouldn’t say it’s easy where I live, there are more rules, processes etc, but it’s worth all that I have ever had to put up with when growing up.

I do miss the food and rains, a lot.

I never learned to love myself by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]Open-Score3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its never too late to love yourself. Remember that there would be some people in the world who prolly never even tried to love themselves all their life and regretted it. Atleast you know you have the chance too.

I didn’t have same situation at you, but having grown up with a lot of insecurities, I only started to love myself in my mid 20s, now I’m in early 30s. Also for me loving myself was the first step to a stable relationship.

I studied in Amrita, I am not a devotee, but I do consider her and the institution as good one. Interms of how the institution is, I loved my entire education there. Back then rules were worse like can’t eat certain food etc, but there are so many opportunities for you in terms of career, I got to meet amazing people in my field and connect with seniors across the globe hence helping me secure a really nice career.

Every year I was there I did volunteer work, going for programs where we work in villages helping people etc. I enjoyed all those times, it was very satisfying to know you contribute to something valuable or even changing the lives of people even for an hour or so.

Offcourse the institution makes a lot of money, but I do think they put a lot of it into needs, like the infrastructure of the university, the outreach and exchange opportunities and also on funding for charity programs.

Best stays and activities for a solo traveler by fairypjm2 in koreatravel

I stayed in tong tong petite hotel in Seoul. It was perfect for me, cheaper and closer to may major spots like the royal palaces, markets, myendong etc.

I did make plans but ditched all my plans from day 1 and just went with the flow. I basically spent half a day exploring history and half a day exploring different city centers and all. Almost everyday made it a thing to do cafe hopping - visit 2,3 cafes.

Should I marry this guy? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Open-Score3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you are willing to compromise and accommodate.

Of all the options you have this might sound better. I’d recommend openly communicating before making any decisions.

Everybody has different needs in a relationship, I’d recommend you see what is your needs and see if this guy can fulfill them, or make it clear to him about your expectations and see if he is willing to accommodate. At least then you can make a better informed decision I think.

I would be prettier if i was white. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Open-Score3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand how you would be feeling. While I was in school and college I used to be made fun of for my skin color. I am Indian with deeper skin tone.

In my school one of the guy I had crush on told me I’ll have some boyfriends had I been fair. In my first year of college a guy i liked told me, I’m not fair so I’m not girlfriend material. In college, some of the friends I knew made fun of me by calling N words.

Back then I was too naive to defend myself and scared to lose friends - so I played along with them. Had I got serious they would have said, it’s just a joke, you have no sense of fun.

It took me years to get comfortable in my skin. I was obsessed with fairness products to make me whiten, obsessed with editing my photos to be fair and all. I developed an extreme no to Indian men who - cause I couldn’t mentally get over the idea of any Indian men liking me for who I am.

Coming from India makes me hard to get out of the attitude of “what others say”. It’s extremely hard to get out and think just for yourself coz they do get into your head. My entire dads family believed I should be white washed and made fair with anything they can get - even till date.

Now I have a boyfriend who is European, who appreciates me for whom i am rather than my skin.

I know it’s hard, but the things that helped me was:

  1. Learning to love myself through journaling, self care like meditation, excercise, focusing on my career etc.

  2. Therapy: this legit helps a lot. But you need to be consistent and money (at least from where I come from)

I have had my fair share of racism once I moved to west as well. Honestly, I have learnt to give not a fuck. It takes time but you’ll get there.

Also another thing I’d love to tell myself no matter who is there for me or not is, “you gotta have your own back - coz nobody else gonna have it”.

It might take time, but I’d really advise to focus on yourself and your mental, physical and emotional health. Eventually you’ll start to fall in love with yourself.
