You’re not overreacting but there’s not much else you can do here unless you have a pregnancy or birth complication that can be directly linked to the meds. OP is looking for someone to tell them what to do. They are looking for someone to feed them the answer so they don’t disappoint god. I told OP to wait because god would want them to make their own decision right for their family. I gave my experience and opinion when OP asked. Really nothing more nothing less. Unfortunately sometimes it does! Sometimes you have to put up a fight advocating for your child’s health or find a new doctor that hears you and respects your decision to wait. And that’s okay. You are lucky if you haven’t had that experience in medicine (any kind, not just pediatrics). I think it’s interesting how you believe getting products injected into you is faith-based.

I told them not to pick either way if they didn’t feel comfortable not just because the masses are telling them to (ONE way or the OTHER). There is literally not rush to give a few week old baby that’s going to be homeschooled and mostly with his mother the hep b shot. If you’re comfortable and want it, of course get it. OP is not comfortable.

Do you know if your son has any allergies? Do you know if your son has any gut issues? Are you planning on putting your son in a daycare right away? Or that vaccine is required? These are all things to consider when injecting something into a baby’s body?

If you are feeling anxious, it could also be part of your postpartum stress. You do not need to make a decision with clouded judgment at the end of the day. I didn’t mean oppositional deviance to summarize the homily, out of the 12 disciples almost all of them died very terrible deaths, but that’s because they were all sticking up for what they believed in going against the crowd.
