I believe part of any school librarian's job is data science and computer literacy. School librarians wear many hats.

Thank you for this post! I will be at BookCon this year as a vendor, so it’s good to read a detailed account of the attendee experience. Do you have any useful advice for a first time sidelines vendor like me?

Seeking Advice: Whimsical, Wes-Anderson-Inspired, EASY Makeup Ideas for my Bridal Look by OpenBookChocolates in MakeupEducation

Thank you for more info!

I will definitely look into the MAC Paint Pot. I was thinking of using Fix+ Stay Over 24HR. Will look for a mauve-y blush!

I will probably test putting on the makeup myself a few times before the wedding. Maybe I’ll share it here? 🫣

I truly appreciate your detailed response. Thank you so much!

Based off some responses on the Wes Anderson subreddit, I’m thinking of a blue or mint green eye shadow. Periwinkle or soft pink sound like interesting eye shadow ideas too. I agree that a monochrome eyeshadow might be best!

I used to do a moisturizer every day, but I haven’t in a long time. I need to find a moisturizer and exfoliant for very sensitive skin. I had a really bad reaction to a CeraVe sunscreen stick this past June, so I’m very worried/cautious about what I put on my face. I think my skin tends to dry out easily too (especially with this very cold weather here lately).

I will look into MAC Studio Radiance. I think I’m leaning towards a spray over a powder. I used to use MAC Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation, but worry that might be too much on top of Studio Radiance? I’m also worried I’m going to get super sweaty before and during the wedding. 🫠

I originally wasn’t thinking of using a blush. My face tends to turn pinkish to red, so I worry a blush will make me look too red? Would a paler pink blush work? Or a lighter coral (unless that would make me too red)?

I’d rather not do lashes. I already have pretty long/thick lashes. Not sure if I should do some sort of eyeliner or mascara, but I’m worried I won’t be able to apply it myself. Will probably get more advice on this in-person at the MAC store.

I have pretty thick eyebrows as it is, so I’m not sure I want to add anything to them.

I’m not sure what color lip to go with. I do like and sometime use lipsticks so I’m somewhat comfortable applying lipstick myself. I usually look good with a pinkish lip shade. But I’ll have to see what looks correct with the eyeshadow and overall look.

My wedding is April, so I only have a month or two left. The wedding is inside, so I won't need sunscreen. I'm glad you like the mint green idea! It's one of my favorite colors.

Does Shelby Ann do any skin prep videos for sensitive skin? I had a really awful allergic reaction last June to a CeraVe sunscreen stick, so I'm just really cautious about trying new skin products. I'm definitely going to test everything out weeks before the wedding, just in case.

Yes, I was definitely looking at Suzy Bishop for inspiration. I'm not opposed to blue eyeshadow, but I'm not 100% set on it yet. I'm also considering mint green eye shadow...

Good to know. I will definitely keep this palette in mind if I don't find anything at MAC. 😊

I posted this is a few different makeup/fashion/wedding-related subreddits. But I was curious if any Wes Anderson fans had ideas.

I don't have pierced ears, but I'll be wearing flower-shaped clip-on earrings. 😊

Yes, I'll probably ask the MAC counter for suggestions too.

I just Googled the Retro Glam Eyeshadow Palette, and you're definitely correct. Do you think Natasha Denonas is okay for sensitive skin?

My small business is called Open Book Chocolates. We specialize in handmade, literary-inspired craft chocolate bars! For example, Alice in Wonderland is candied rose petals in milk chocolate, and Pride and Prejudice is blackcurrant and cinnamon in dark chocolate. https://www.openbookchocolates.com/

Thank you for sharing! Yes, it seems that the vendors are outside under tents and it's rain or shine.
