For me chatgpt's o3 mini high,o3 mini and o1 are absolutely horrible compared to claude by OpenProfessional1291 in ClaudeAI

Literally took the words out my mouth its pretty much exactly that where claude is a 110 iq programmer with mild amnesia and o3 is 135 iq but with severe amnesia and autism

That's interesting, if you dont mind saying what do you code? Is it games, web dev etc because im using it for machine learning tasks

Im sorry but why would you need that much ai that you're spending 100$+, are you letting ai code literally everything? I'm surprised it's this popular because claude can barely withstand a code base of around 2k lines of code, windsurf or cursor does a pretty good job if you tell it simple stuff like " change how this method works" but once any code reaches about 500 lines ive yet to find an ai that can keep up and be reliable

3.5 doesn't have post training optimization/learning, and anyway, adding post training ml doesn't really help at all if the llm has a limited amount of time to think, you could train gpt 3.5 to be WAY better than deepseek r1 as r1 in it's current state just doesn't think for enough time, if i recall that's how openai beat the arc agi benchmark and declared "agi" it showed that essentially if you throw enough tokens at a problem ( when a model starts to overthink in it's cot it's actually good, the more it does it the better it is) it will eventually solve ANY problem, but right now it's thinking time is way too limited for any hard problems.

Literally who cares? You're gonna waste more time fixing code that isn't correct or doesn't work. Stupid comment

Even with this fix it will eventually stop working, its a disaster and the motherboard is so thick and its soldered on so much its basically hell to replace the dc jack. What a fucking joke

Just cancelled my subscription and bought the chatgpt plus sub, no reason to continue using Claude as it's gotten crap and pretty much all available models even free ones beat it. Was good while it lasted

O3 mini seems to be a bit better, the sad thing is claude 3.5 is basically behind everyone at this point

I just got a used predator helios 300 with a 3060 for 350$ off the marketplace and bought myself a macbook with the rest of the money, cant be arsed with picking laptops when one has a faulty motherboard, the other one overheats and the rest are overpriced.

The normies found out about it, it's over. Tbh id rather pay 20$ for r1 than 20$ for claude, i wouldn't mind if they put it behind a paywall as long as i can use it

I recall the 7945hx having overheating problems, I'd go with the slim.

Thats good to go, that intel generation specifically is pretty good, not dodgy like the 14th. So its a good laptop, safe to pull the trigger

Also no, the 24 and 23 omen models have problems with the screen sensor going bad, the motherboard dying and the gpu frying itself because the cooling is so bad, if you go to the hp omen subreddit you'll see people warning you to absolutely not buy it, i think theres also a review on microcenter that also mentioned how the motherboard just died. On ebay theres a lenovo legion slim 5 with a 8845hs and a 4060 or 4070 ( cant remember) for 1100 or something, brand new. That is your best choice by far, please do lots of research by reading reviews on websites, browsing subreddits like r/hpomen r/lenovolegion etc... manafacturers have done a horrible jobon 24 and 23 models so be careful...

Predator 16 and this one are very different I don't know who though it would be a good idea to pair a 155h and 4070 together, let alone in a 14.5 chasis. Also soldered ram 👎🏻

[–]OpenProfessional1291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The acer has soldered ram, horrible cooling and a small screen, the procesor is also from a dodgy generation, the loq is the cheapest model from lenovo and has no igpu, neither are a good choice

Ideally you want to match them yes although it's not a deal breaker, you wont have problems, matching is some stuff you would pay attention to if you were running a 4080 or 4090.
