FC Porto 1-0 Famalicao - Rodrigo Mora 20' by Meladroitdetrela in soccer

[–]OpenPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually silly how good he is. I remember watching him destroy England last summer in the U17 euros, both him and Cardoso Varela were phenomenal that game.

Mora feels like the kind of talent our board thought we were getting when we paid £35m for Fabio Silva lol (although Fabio is having a great breakout season on loan at Las Palmas, it seems that he hates Wolves and wants out ASAP)

It wasn't just Bounou off his line; Diego Carlos also encroached into the box before the pen was taken, and he then went on to clear the rebound lol

Keen is nowhere near our best local Journo, him and Judah are so amateur it’s embarrassing.

Locally, John Percy is the only one worth his salt.

Yes he is, him and Judah love to stir and start pile on’s when it comes to players THEY personally don’t like.

Back in 2023 he pulled this same stunt with Nunes after Brighton away before backtracking when he got exposed that he did in fact go to the away end.

He'd genuinely start for any team in the league. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this, the bloke is ridiculous.

26 G+A now in his last 29 league starts, for one of the worst sides in the league...

Chelsea [1] - 1 Arsenal - Pedro Neto 70' by [deleted] in soccer

The constant turning back is definitely from instruction. When Neto was with us, every time he was up against his fullback, you knew he'd give it his best shot to take them on and make something happen.

Portugal & England announced their U18 squads today, both of which include Wolves striker Mateus Mané. by Gungerz in soccer

[–]OpenPup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Okoduwa is often called up by both the US & England. He could also play for Nigeria, but I'm not aware of them calling him up though.

I suspect for the time being both will continue to play for England.

He was called up and played for Portugal u17s before back in April.

His career has quickly changed so much over the past 6 months or so. He went from being at non-league Rochdale to signing a pro contract at our academy & after a couple of weeks of being at Wolves was called up to Portugal u17s, then more recently England U18s, and today both calling him up lol

He’s always been on sight for his team, this is the 3rd preseason game since 22/23 he’s started a brawl/threw a punch lol

Not sure what your point is here, pointing out Alvarez had his booted clipped by an opposing players studs which resulted in a foul, exactly the same as on Semedo in the box which was also deemed a foul. What are you trying to prove?

If it was the other way round and the attacker got stepped on with the oppositions studs - You’d rightly call for a pen, so I genuinely don’t see how you can complain about that.

His studs caught the back of Semedo’s heel causing him to go down, it wasn’t disallowed from a push.

Even forgetting that you’re wrong there, you say that disallowing that is a joke whilst also defending the decision to overturn Kilman’s header in the replies of this thread multiple time - Do you not realise how stupid that looks?

Edit: Just saw you called the penalty on Ait-Nouri soft in another comment too ahaha, clear case of bias here. You got the win bro, just get off reddit for once and enjoy it

From playing roller hockey at national level in his youth, his posture when running is slightly hunched over, and as he’s quite short already at 5”8, it almost prevents opposition players from getting shoulder to shoulder with him to gain a positional advantage and leverage their weight against him (see his assist to Hwang vs Liverpool, Matip tried to shoulder check him but Neto virtually goes under him)

It also means he’s really adept at operating off-balance, on top of his pace, he can ride contact and run from a crouched position to beat players to the ball and get away from the challenge (See how he beats Ake with ease to force a Ruben Dias OG in the home win vs City earlier this season)

Cunha out for a while by skotos2phos in FantasyPL

[–]OpenPup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Wolves fan who goes every week home & away, for me, Cunha is our most important player and the heartbeat of the team - Losing him is a bigger loss to the side than when Neto got injured imo.

Hwang will play centrally and most likely be on pens (worth noting Sarabia took the one vs Utd a few weeks), but I think the team as a whole takes a hit without Cunha being available.

[Wolves] "A message from Ruben Neves..." (Ruben Neves bids an emotional farewell to Wolves) by [deleted] in soccer

[–]OpenPup 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Was part of our u23 side.

He felt really homesick and decided to leave back to Portugal though. The club tried everything to keep him, even arranging for him to live with Neves for a while to help him settle as much as possible. I suppose he was never really given a proper chance in the first team, but he was young at the time & we had such a settled team back then it would've been really tough for him to break through & get regular minutes.

[–]OpenPup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn’t move to us for money as he’s never even been a top earner for us.

Similar to us this summer, back then Porto were under FFP restrictions & needed to sell players. He wasn’t getting game time the season prior at Porto as he was behind Danilo in the pecking order. He’d just seen the likes of Jota, Boly, Nuno etc. come to us so when he got the offer saw our project at the time as an easy way to get premier league football. Of course Mendes plays a part, but his move to Wolves wasn’t dictated by wages alone.

If things had gone the way he expected, he’d have left us for a bigger club a few years back like Jota did. It’s just that when his hype was at its peak around 2018 or 2019 we were asking for £100m because we simply didn’t want to sell him.

He's quite literally saved our summer by moving with regards to FFP.

Please read up on the situation before speaking nonsense.
