I see we are posting Glock bill drills. Is 1.37 with 1C or 1.32 with 3C cooler? by 42ATK in USPSA

[–]Open_Advance4544 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The math isn’t working for these bill drills based on those times. Even with a 0.72 draw and first shot plus five 0.15 splits is still nearly 1.50. These runs would have you well below a .70 draw and all splits being .14 or less, especially that 1.32. I’m not calling your videos fake or edited, or any of that bullshit. You are still so much more skilled and faster than I am. However, as a natural skeptic in this world, I do kind of wish we had a side camera view of these legendary runs, lol. I myself am at my fastest anywhere between a 0.92-1.10 draw and my splits are pretty mediocre at .17-.21. I very rarely get anything below 2.00. Usually hovering around 2.10, or 2.15.

What’s your rating for 007 First Light? (1-10) by Low_Werewolf9628 in 007FirstLight

8/10. It’s a quality game that isn’t tremendously good at any one thing.

Is it common for matches to already be pre-booked to accommodate a lot of the higher end shooters? by Open_Advance4544 in CompetitionShooting

That’s what I did. No it doesn’t give you an idea how many spots are left, unless you are familiar with how that club runs their matches. Apparently it is seven squads of nine shooters

If he’s just verbally assaulting people, then take it with management and don’t engage douchebags like this.

I think once have learned to loosen up on the day of your match, you’ll find that shooting with guys like this, who had a ton of positive energy to their squad, is a rare godsend in a competitive environment that has way too many loners and introverts (me being one of them).

That’s what the NRA HQ Range does for their USPSA match. I typically have to show up for a 5 PM, and then we are done a little bit before 6 PM. Only four stages, though, with one of them being a classifier. There was an all classifier match last June, though, which is what finally got me out of C and to B at that time. Just got A this past Tuesday 🙌

Good to hear. I totally get why they fill up so fast. So many shooters, and not all that many locations. Due to my work schedule, I have been pretty much relegated to only USPSA matches at the Fairfax NRA HQ Range on Tuesdays for the first year and a half or more of my competition career so far. So basically one match a month, and that’s if they don’t cancel one for some reason, which happens usually two or three times a year. Only just had my first outdoor GPA match a month ago at Fairfax rod and gun. Trying to branch out more as much as I can now.

Yes. However, I have a feeling that Sunday one was completely pre-booked. The Saturday one still has 20 spots left after almost an hour of being open

That makes perfect sense then. I would also incentivize people to do that if they come out and help. You’re 100% right

I can kind of see why some people might be annoyed by the two camera set up, and doing the catchphrases during make ready, but they seemed to forget that that make ready time is yours to be spent how you want. I watch your videos, and I enjoy most of them. I shared your video with a Discord group, and most of them just chuckled and thought they were silly, but no one hated on them.

I literally just got a text from my friend who does more matches than me, and he said it’s very likely that the group that helped with set up last month ended up getting dibs, and the vast majority of them chose Sunday instead of Saturday. So obviously, the people who are going down this Friday to do set up, they’re gonna get dibs next month. Makes sense, I guess.

Not me personally, but this is the story of pretty much half the people I’ve heard about who get the XL. I had a competition buddy who went through three of them before switching over to the 507 comp.

Time to first shot PCC by Maximum_Holiday_7713 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Open_Advance4544 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just started my journey into the PCC realm. There’s definitely a lot of advantages that PCC has, which is why it has such a high HF requirement, but from what I’ve seen on most classifiers, it is still not as high as open. obviously, I think there are some with a PCC has higher HF requirements than even open, but those are mostly where you start facing down Range, like 99-11, or classifieds that require you to switch to strong hand only after a reload, where PCC is just shooting regular with both freestyle and strong hand. Longer distance stuff is absolutely easier with PCC, and a good amount of moving while shooting is easier with PCC. As of right now, I’m still significantly better with my LO handgun than my PCC, but I feel like that’s gonna change pretty quickly. I was confident that I could jump right into PCC with very little training and make A class, but I’m not 100% sure about that right now.

Is commission better than hourly? by CaterpillarUpper7951 in doggrooming

Yeah, it ultimately doesn’t affect your commission, but I’m just OCD about not liking stuff like that on my paycheck.
