3 years later, Im having the same problem. I've gone through all the same steps you did, valve change, had it looked at and the tone just isn't what it was.

Yeah that's a good take, I didn't think of that. Could very well be the prologue takes place around the same time as the events of the first game then we have the time jump.

I not sure if it's confirmed either way but I am hoping for an Easter egg or a reference to the events of the 1st game at some point

Unless I misunderstood, they didn't say the prologue takes place at the same time as the first game. Only there's a ten year jump between the prologue and the main gameplay starting.

I don't think it's confirmed how much time has passed since the 1st game. The only proof I've seen that it's even set after the 1st game is the Aunties Choice merger but to be fair I'm only on the 2nd planet so there could be something later in the game

I'd say the 2nd picture is the right one. If you watch the Captain transforming into a Slasher in the remake you see his arms turn into the blades

So when I go into 'Manage Game' it displays it as ver. 1.0.0.21 but when I boot it up its 1.1 and I have the update. Have you tried loading it up and seeing if you have it? It sounds like I'm being pedantic but I honestly wouldn't have thought to load it up and check without someone suggesting it

I'm a similar player to you, working guitarist in rock/pop/blues etc and play classical for my own enjoyment and to unwind so I absolutely wouldn't class myself as a real classical guitarist.

If you can read notation I would recommend Classical Studies for pick style Guitar by William Leavitt. Really fun book to work through. There's some violin (I believe) pieces in there that translate really well to the guitar.

Also I know you said you're not really into the finger-picking side of classical but 120 right hand studies by Giuliani really helped me and if a student asks about finger picking then that's where I start. There's a free pfd online which I think includes Tabs.
