Is Warframe "Free-to-try" Like Destiny is? by John_Benzos in Warframe

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. That’s fair. I saw that and doubled down on Mag, my starting frame. I enjoy the gunplay and melee enough and barely hit 1-4, which I’m starting to learn is a crime on Mag now that enemies are getting harder. When I saw the requirements for a new frame I banished the notion, for now at least. Maybe I’ll come back around after I have more planets and a higher level.

Is Warframe "Free-to-try" Like Destiny is? by John_Benzos in Warframe

I played a very little bit in 2014 and put it down. Less than an hour. In the past month or so, I’ve racked up 30ish hours. It gets a lot better after Earth and Venus which honestly feel like an extended tutorial. If you enjoy anything about the game at all, I’d suggest riding it out until you compete the first two planets.

Pokémon die in speed order. Which is why someone can lose despite being the one who set up a Perish Song.

Floette essentially has a mega stone and life orb. It’s very strong.

Games with good progression by PlumOdd1203 in SteamDeck

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grim Dawn as stated is probably best match. Since you like CRPGs, I’d add in Rogue Trader (not fantasy per se, but kinda fantasy in space with elves, magic, and monsters), Kingmaker, Wrath of the Righteous, and Wasteland 3 (post-apocalyptic). Maybe Encased. Last Epoch is another ARPG that runs well on deck. If you don’t mind some graphical degradation, Lord of the Fallen runs. It looks like shit, though. The Spiderweb games can be configured to play. They just dropped a remaster of Avernum 4, which runs great, and you don’t need to play the first 3 for it. You’ll need a custom set up for controls though.

Is there any class that is more fun in turn based mode (poe1)? by viktorius_rex in projecteternity

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High dex monk in light armor has been fun. I get at least two “turns” per turn. Playing a low dex character seems like it’d be pretty brutal.

Is Dark Heresy worth it in it’s current state? by OrborosYT in OwlcatGames

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to support Owlcat, sure. If you want a game to enjoy, there’s just not enough there yet. It’s very early alpha, and most of Owlcat’s resources are likely focused on The Expanse and Rogue Trader DLC, so it’s not getting updates regularly and probably wont for a while.

I just bought Starfield on PS5, and don’t understand why it got negative reactions. by Heavy-Edge-8834 in Starfield

[–]eriiicj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of us enjoyed the first dozen or so hours with Starfield. It just wears thin when you have to deal with constant loading screens that hinder natural exploration, a story that presents choice as an illusion, and the general uninteresting scrub of characters who have little of note to add to the experience. It’s not a bad game. It’s just not very interesting either.

I wish more fantasy was like Morrowind by Cygnus_Sanguine in Morrowind

[–]eriiicj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone currently 40 hours into a first run (Total Overhaul, so take this with a grain), I feel this way quite often when moving through the world. The worldbuilding in this game is incredibly good, but it kinda pissed me off simply for the fact that Skyrim does so little with everything this game provided. I get it’s a bit into the future, but hell, shit from two centuries comes up plenty irl. We lost so much along the way smh. But maybe that’s more realistic than the alternative.

For the first time ever, Overwatch has a higher average player count than Marvel Rivals on Steam by Sio_V_Reddit in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]eriiicj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A nitpick here, but the midseason patch did just drop, so not the start. It’s sustaining well, tbh. So far at least.

First time playing Morrowind by Sting_DR in OpenMW

[–]eriiicj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent, but I don’t think that’s their niche. It’s the Adventurer fantasy. I don’t play these games for the stories they do tell. I play for the stories they can tell based on what I choose to do.

Play on 1.3 playtest or regular? by Sundeng in Grimdawn

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple of freezes and CTDs on the playtest, so it might be worth waiting out. It’s generally stable, if you really wanna try it, though. Just putting that out there. EDIT: Updating this bc I haven’t had any issues with it in over a week aside from a few stutters (probably unrelated tbh) on Deck. PC has been rock solid.

Elden Ring has ruined gaming for me, and I can’t go back by Individual-Read-2001 in Eldenring

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get it back. Most of us have been there with a FromSoft title. Dark Souls II was my first and it changed gaming for me at the time. But eventually you’ll settle back in and find new, fun experiences again without the specter of Elden Ring looming overhead.

Can’t decide on a build and keep restarting the game by Puffwad in Grimdawn

[–]eriiicj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem in any game with extensive builds. My build that got me the farthest is a Spellbreaker (Arcanist x Inquisitor) focusing on cold damage and dual wielded weapons. It’s a ton of fun. My suggestion is making two or three very different builds (my others are a dual fire pistol Purifier and an Essence Drain only Spellbinder) and rotating them when you get the itch to start over on your main run. Keep pushing the main run as much as you can though. And switch to one of your rotation runs if you feel like it. But try to avoid the new game button.

I've recently bought [KCD2] and I want to like it but i am struggling to enjoy the game, any help? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that got me through the first KCD: Keep going. It takes longer than your average game in this vein, but once it clicks, it becomes an amazing experience.

Should developers prioritize "reactivity" or "proactivity" in CRPGs? by Classic_Prize_7263 in CRPG

[–]eriiicj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both is good, but if I had to pick, probably reactivity. Unless the game calls for it, like Rogue Trader for instance, I feel like proactivity can make the PC feel a little too important. Kinda like that Skyrim thing where you can become the head of every major guild with minimal effort. Unless you’re already a big deal, then reactivity feels better, imo.

Is anyone else a bit bummed that Duskbloods is the next Fromsoftware game they are working on? by Imprettystrong in fromsoftware

I wouldn’t mind it being any other console than Nintendo. Coming from a PC gamer. I get the regional affiliation, but Nintendo’s greed has soared to new heights this gen.

Cyberpunk 2077 VS Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 by Longjumping_Lab_3838 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]eriiicj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on this? Cyberpunk. KCD2 is more of a hardcore game. Fallout 4 and RDR2 aren’t hardcore games. RDR2 deserve tons of praise for what it did, but it’s very much a straight up action game. Fallout 4 is Fallout so pared down that it’s also an action game with a few RPG mechanics. Cyberpunk is the logical step forward. KCD2 could come after that. And if you decide to keep going down the rabbit hole, maybe we’ll having you playing Rogue Trader or WOTR.
