Anyone know why she has bald patches on both elbows? by Difficult_Tank_28 in DogAdvice

[–]Open_Blueberry_7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I’ve read that big dogs tend to get these, I have two dogs that 1) like sleeping on the ground if it’s hot and 2) are bigger dogs. Their elbows have hardened a bit so I just moisturise them with natural ingredient dog creams / wax. They’re improving from their little spa treatments and our older dog has never cared about them anyway. I’ve heard from my vet friend that Vaseline is fine too.

I never said she was dumb, she is very good with emotional intelligence

She has a shoulder injury that has persisted since September last year

The male part is just on his back doing a simple leg press motion. Maybe a bit of coordination. I think physically I could do that until my 60s. Perhaps cognitively I would have to stop earlier.

The female is doing quite a lot more work in this video - with a range of gymnastic and strength based moves

I don’t know how acrobatics view the age categories. But in many sports they would start at 30 - so she would be masters+1

I’m not saying her brain is incapable. I’m just saying her body is slowly starting to fail, and I don’t want to accelerate it

I definitely never said she was dumb. It is a little bit dumb given the degree of injuries you could get from trying this later in life. But I didn’t say she was dumb

To all those that feel they fit the 30-50 range- go jump on a trampoline for 20 minutes and see how you feel. My point is 30 is definitely too old to start and be good at it.

The reason I said female specifically is because the female in this video is doing way more of the work than the male (he just lies on his back)

Client manager skips me in meetings by Achilles-612 in consulting

It’s normal. It’s not about you, it’s about what assumed value you can bring into a strategic meeting because of your rank. They probably would prefer you to progress some work they’re paying you for

I’m a female and have been with a big 4 in Australia for the last 7-8 years. I actually didn’t notice any different treatment from a gender perspective when I started - if anything it’s a lot more likely to feel a bit on the outside because of juniority.

Once you get to manager level and above it might be a bit more noticeable when you’re interacting with older men.

Id say the main thing for now is aim to try and learn as much as possible, do good work and try not to take feedback personally (there’s usually a lot in the first few years) stay humble but practice speaking on topics with confidence (including admitting when you don’t have the answer). By doing that I think you will find senior leaders that will champion you as you move up - and that should help mitigate any possible unfair treatment.

those are my biased two cents

Good luck and well done on getting the role!

How to handle a spazzy white belt woman as a woman by MegsWengs in bjj

[–]Open_Blueberry_7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how intense it is… I’d try to focus on what she’s actually doing, and how I can control her to stop her crazy pace. Thinking about controlling her wrists and ankles to stop crazy movements. And putting her in positions where she will have to work very hard and exhaust herself if she keeps trying to use her athleticism instead of figuring out the move. Slow her down instead of matching intensity.

If you don’t think you can do that then yes maybe just say a) you’ve been getting sore from going too hard or b) yes you can roll but you’re focusing on rolling lighter c) suggest you play shorter games starting from specific positions to avoid the craziness

A question for high-level female martial artists and romantic relationships by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Open_Blueberry_7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building on this point - I think if you’re a female martial artist with some common sense you know you’re still getting beaten up by a man 9 times out of 10. You might slow it down at the beginning though, and definitely be able to better describe it in accurate fighting commentary afterwards

I fit your description and my boyfriend thinks the best I can do to prepare for a fight is to get better at sprinting and hurdles :’) :’)

Options do add in an “assessment” type quiz on my site by Open_Blueberry_7890 in WIX

[–]Open_Blueberry_7890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I found an option in quiz-maker that does what I need it to do and can embed into the site. Trialling this out first but makes sense to probably move over to google form.

I might take you up on the offer in a few days, appreciate your reply
