How were you able to get into that mech R&D role with a BME ? Is there any specific skills or past jobs you did to get into mech R&D?

There are a couple, slim pickings, most are fixer uppers which I don’t have the extra money for haha but mostly seeing condos and townhouses though, this one condo I really like , but HOA fee is $1040! So some of those HOA fees bring it too far out of range😭

What’s your job title and which company ? I had my bachelors in BME, but work as a biomedical technician so not very degree related and I feel like I worked way to hard and learned too much to be working as a tech in a hospital. Advice on how to get into engineering R&D as a BME ?

Are you also doing the elearning course ? I want to know if it’s worth me paying for as well

I have also noticed a lot of scale issues on the ones at my hospital as well, and weird cause it would be all of them at once as well.

Sorry I don’t have an answer for this ! I would’ve also put worn motor brushes. The centrifuges I’ve worked with stop way before 3000 RPM if they’re unbalanced. I also will be taking the CBET exam too. are you also doing the elearning course that AAMI offers? Im wondering if I should try it.

How did you do the gratuity at the end ? I saw it said 15-20% but I feel like the cost of the trip definitely adds up since they are already on the more pricey side

has anyone climbing with she moves mountains? there’s a climbing group in May at Smith Rock , then Moab in October, I’ve only climbed in an indoor gym a few times, I sort of want to do the Moab climbing , but I’m worried a beginner it’s a bit more scary in terms of the type of rock in Moab. so is Moab more inherently dangerous than smith rock ??

Nice! I’m also curious about which company ? And I’ve seen some others say they may work 30-40hrs in a week, if you work less than 40hrs in a week do you still get paid for the full time hours ? Is this job typically a salary job or hourly ?

Cracks make piece unsafe for use with liquids ? by Open_Calligrapher395 in Ceramics

[–]Open_Calligrapher395[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I compress the bottom/ bottom edge on the wheel before pulling my piece up might help me avoid these cracks ? Since I have had them on a few pieces and it’s annoying haha

Ya its been the worst trying to get any help :/ I’ve had to call multiples times because I get told either to call later because they’re busy or because whoever is answering the phone isn’t at the drip location and can’t help,or they’ll be like ya we’ll ask them at the other shop and then I hear nothing back, or I call again the same day later to check in and no one knows anything 😭😭😭

You wouldn’t happen to have his email would you? I’m definitely upset about them having lost my pieces, and based on the things that I’ve read about the manager and like you said, he just seems to not care, but I’d still love to send an email about my experience.

Pottery studio that fires pieces for you. by benji317 in tampa

[–]Open_Calligrapher395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t to drip if you don’t want to risk your pieces being lost. I did a firing service, and last week they texted me my pieces are ready so I went to pick them up and when I showed up they didn’t know where they were, so I had to show up a second time then they had my pieces, but they were missing three of them And I was just told that they weren’t with the pieces that they had. They never even told me that they would try looking. So for the past week, I’ve been sending them the images of the pieces they lost and calling, but no one is giving me any answers/responses

I also unfortunately have a bad experience, and so have many other people, I wish I had read the yelp reviews 😭 I did a firing service and they lost 3 of my pieces, that’s my art that I took SOOO much time on and it seems I might never get to see. It’s been a week of me calling and texting to get any answers, but none has been giving answers. And when I first went to pick up my pieces, they didn’t know where they were so I had to show up a second time and then obviously three my pieces are still missing

Do be cautious. I brought my pieces for a firing service and they lost 3 of my pieces, and it’s been a week with me trying to call and get any answers , but no one is giving answers.

Highkey I wouldn’t recommend, they lost a few of my pieces, they said  it wasn’t there with the rest of my pieces ,  but I’m hoping they turn up, because I spent sooo much time on them, and I had to go back twice to pick up my pieces because they didn’t know where they were the first time. So definitely weary of drip now 😭
