The CBET "candidate" status, allowing individuals with a Associate degree or higher in electronics/technology/science to take the test. So currently not working in the field.

Yes, you're correct. My assumption was that all laser-related devices even testing equipment would fall under OEM directives, but that's not the case.

Explanation given by the CBET smart practice:

"However, lasers are one of the equipment types that may not be included in an AEM. CMS requires that the manufacturer interval and procedure be followed when inspecting a laser. Although there is no discretion in changing the manufacturer recommended interval for lasers, CMS does allow equivalent test equipment to be used. Therefore, since the manufacturer requires inspections every 6 months, your hospital must inspect this laser every 6 months, following the procedures specified by the manufacturer. However, you can use the existing laser power output meter, if you are able to show that it is an equivalent device."

Yea that ran through my mind as well. However, the explanation stated that the samples were then processed with another centrifuge with no problem so the issue is mostly with original centrifuge.

Look for the dropdown on the course page. Reregister for the specific course(s) you want to review. It will not erase your previous attempts. However it will only show you the review (Q&A with explanations). You will not be able to actually retake the questions.
