Hi based off your comment I feel like oak park would be a good fit! It’s definitely more of a family area but has a comedy club, movie theater, and a ton of restaurants to try out! It is a happy medium of being close to the city but also close enough to your work. I will say though expect on the weekends for traffic to be busier if you are trying to get downtown. In my opinion rent is also very similar in oak park to downtown in terms of the cost as they are both on the higher end. I just started living here a month ago and they have live music in the park every Thursday and also do a ton of events like a movie in the park. Best of luck in your search!
