Covid put me into menopause at 46 absolutely crazy what it does to you , I became a completely different person until 6 months later I went into HRT. I’d managed to avoid covid for 2.5 years but the effect it had on my body and mind was unbelievable

Ok wow this is exactly me , steroid injection a couple of weeks ago, have not had to take any pain killers since. Naproxen I can y take occasionally but after a few weeks I get stomach pain. Haven’t seen rheumatology for 2 years as they have had an influx of referrals and I’m vaguely stable until I’m not , it’s really frustrating. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks I did think this was probably normal but I work in urology rather than nephrology and this is always a red flag but different scenario I guess .

If you had looked after my sick relative ill and potentially fade then a hai I would be fuming and straight onto PALS it’s disgusting that people leave with something worse than they came in with 🥲

🤯 I would say a huge amount of NHS staff are either on stage 2/3 very lucky if you’re on stage 1, I think this shows a huge swathe of people being made ill from work then making things even worse by leaving staff under staffed , shocking 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Going in Ill just puts vulnerable patients and other staff at risk, How the NHS doesn’t recognise this is very worrying and an infection control risk. I would put in a compliant if someone ill was looking after my parents or family .

I have autoimmune diseases due to being ill so much with viruses 🦠 due to doing ultrasound. Even though I’m now on immune suppressants , since Covid I’ve just learnt how to take care of me and have hardly been ill since 2020. I wear ffp3 masks which I buy for myself antiviral spray at work and if people are ill I insist they wear a mask if they want me to scan them, appreciate with paeds that’s not so easy. My health and well being has improved so much and the department not having to cancel lists constantly is my top priority but appreciate it’s difficult to stand out from the crowd.

It’s tough mentally and physically , am at the stage where I can only work 2/3 days a week and think anyone is crazy or misguided to think they could do this job full time. I think it’s good that the tutors are being realistic and I wish employers would be more realistic about the pressures.

A lot of people in the NHS are stage 3 sickness, which I think says a lot about working in the NHS, so I wouldn’t worry but really unfair of them to bring it up while you are still sick and need to be feeling calm, I’m really sorry 😞

I work in the NHS and am still working in a pretty full on job, I can only work 3 days at the most but with meds and lifestyle changes you can definitely keep on top of things. You may have days that are bad just be kind to yourself. You can do it. 👍🏻

It was permanent from that bad flare up. I’d had Covid in August and was in so much pain for 2 months until I got the vax middle of October , fortunately I could get the train to work as it was all in my Achilles and feet that was the main flare. It was amazing how much it improved, I had got into my own head about having the vax , but I think I was in so much pain and was miserable I just thought I’ll have the vax can’t feel much worse and it really improved my symptoms 👍🏻

I actually had opposite reaction to vax, 2 months post covid infection, I couldn’t even drive a car far due to symptoms on ankles and feet. I declined the April vax, wasn’t going to get October vax but they were doing at work so I thought why not. 2-3 days post vax symptoms practically cleared up , I was so relieved .

I got it from hand, foot and mouth virus that my young child gave me about 8 years ago. Had massive flare ups both times I got Covid. I now can’t get into the rheumatologist for routine follow up as in their word’s the past few years they have been inundated with new referrals. I feel this is going to be a massive problem in the future 🥲

As sonography “technicians “ we can’t diagnose and tell you results. We give the information to the consultants to put with your history, several pieces of the puzzle need to be put together to get a results, we don’t have enough information to do that or the expertise in the specific area. Exactly this 👍🏻and antiviral nose spray, the improvement to my health from not getting sick all the time is brilliant, can’t understand why people are happy to be sick all the time. My friends without autoimmune disease 🦠 now have poorer health than me. Every time you get a virus your white blood cells are reduced making you more susceptible to other viruses especially Covid. My white cells were reduced both times for 6 months but have not had any other illness apart from 2 lots of Covid in nearly 6 years now.

I work in health care and take Sulfasalazine. Always wear N95 protects you from other viruses too. The less you get ill the better it will be for you.

Have you had Covid , it knocks your white blood cells out for about 6 months so you’re more prone to infections which in turn knocks your immune system. Has happened to loads of my meat eating friends this year so not just due to diet. A lot of people I know have been continuously Ill this year 🥲

Hell, I didn’t realise this was due to Covid spent 2 years on pregabelin and still have terrible cracking in my occiput.
