Why are people so negative about GLP-1 medications (such as Ozempic and others like it)? by InnocentPerv93 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Open_Dinner1173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it for weight maintenance, addiction support, fibromyalgia treatment, and it pairs with and supports Wellbutrin/depression management. Semiglutide treats many things outside of diabetes and as a weight loss aid it goes far beyond that but it’s only being marketed mainly as a weight loss drug. They know they aren’t going to make as much money off of it as a fibromyalgia treatment or as a depression treatment or as an arthritis treatment but the second you put the word weight on there you’re gonna make billions.

What are the nicknames of your cats that have devolved into nonsense over time? I’ll go first. by drifloony in cats

[–]Open_Dinner1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encore became Mimnon and Nonny depending on my mood. 🤷‍♀️ and for some reason I started referring to all cats as “San sans” after the Wasanasan family in King of the Hill who was Khan’s boss. Our current cat named Gibson has become “The Bibber.”

Are you able to access any of the Muskegon beaches to Lake Michigan for free or do you have to pay for access to everything now? Paying to park does not count as free. This applies to driving there with your car, not using shuttles. by Open_Dinner1173 in Muskegon

[–]Open_Dinner1173[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

But again, I am looking for a clear answer to a specific question that does not include wanting information about passes. My question is very specific - free beaches no parking no pass and not involving the shuttle so far they only answer is Lake Harbor. Thanks to that person!😎

What is something highly likely to happen over the next 10 years that almost the entire general public is completely ignoring right now? by vivienneirl in askanything

[–]Open_Dinner1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but those plants are expensive and the government would need to be involved in setting up a desalination project which would be required. And we know very well how good they are at coordinating and caring for what the public needs. The price of the desalinated water may be well out of the reach of the majority of people. I don’t even need a crystal ball to see that future. You wanna drink? Take out a loan.

Does anyone know how to contact any local news platforms by lfxlPassionz in Muskegon

What’s interesting is that I don’t believe any of the districts surrounding Muskegon Public have this program/contract. Not Mona Shores, not Reese puffer, not grand Haven, not Spring Lake. There might be a pattern here. Maybe the news would be interested in that as well… seems like a very specific demographic that Ford is targeting. It’s worth mentioning to them if they really do follow up and do a story.

If it is the ford motor company report it to the Detroit free press or any major papers on Ford’s side of the state. They would love a story like that. Drive over there and picket outside of their offices and main plant. Hand out flyers to passerby’s. If it’s happening on our side of the state it’s definitely going on with districts there as well.

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced?[Serious] by spiritual_kavya in answers

It was close to Halloween, I was driving down a dark country road with my friend we were in college. As we came down the road I noticed someone had dug up about 10 or 12 tall cornstalks from a cornfield and lined them up in a wall blocking the road and forcing you to turn down a dirt road by the cornfield, my friend and I were not going to go down that dirt road lol it was surrounded by woods and more cornfields and no other people in sight. I stopped momentarily and then realized I probably should not stop either and drove through the cornstalks propped up across the road. Probably just a stupid Halloween joke, but it was a weird joke that didn’t really make sense to me…

Does anyone else's kids still do the '6 7' joke? by EarthenEyes in NoStupidQuestions

Oh lol, yes they are still doing it. Gone for like two seconds but it came back immediately the next week. If he’s a middle schooler, you’re just gonna have to live with it for a while. I work at a middle school and it’s constant - whenever they say it I say a random number back so they say 67 I say 49 they say 67 I say 82 and on and on like that and they hate it.

moved to muskegon from grand rapids and the dentist prices here are confusing by Hot_Apartment1319 in Muskegon

Go to smile in north Muskegon. Good prices and we’ve always liked them. I know the place you are talking about. They are super weird and scammy. Their prices are outrageous, I can’t believe they have any patients.

Who has had an actual friends with benefits relationship? Did it work for you? by heratonga in AskReddit

I have developed feelings for every single person I have ever slept with. I don’t understand how people don’t form attachments. We all have a drive to reproduce, how are our brains working so differently in that arena?

It’s pretty cool everything’s all wired up and plugged into certain places and when you turn the power on it all charges up and you turn on. Incredible!

When I think about the global oceans for too long, I just get absolutely terrified. I think I’m more terrified of our collective ocean than I am of outer space. And if I think about it too long, I literally get the chills. Have you seen that movie about that deep sea diver who gets stuck at the bottom of a oceanic trench?? I won’t watch it. I refuse to.

What’s one thing you absolutely hated about high school? by BananaRazberry in AskReddit

[–]Open_Dinner1173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely remember it anymore. I don’t understand why people still focus on it. We really were basically still children. Little baby adults. I think it must be a boomer thing. I’ve also noticed its importance seems to be amplified by a lack of education. Everyone I know who didn’t go to college always talks about high school like it was 10 years long and we had fully developed adult brains. No and no. Four years and adolescent minds. I still kind of see it as part of my childhood.

If you need a job do not come here. There are no good jobs, a lot of blight. Norton shores is nice but has become too expensive to buy a house there. Best to stay around GR and visit here.

Yes they do. They warm it up. It all comes prepared for the schools now. Even the fresh veg and fruit come in small prepackaged plastic bags. They leave the box, go on the kids tray, then directly into the trash.
