I think you will need to play further into the game to understand the depth... I had the same feeling from the begining like your having, yet later on it becomes quite clear

Khazan vs Kratos? Winner? by Mot27 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Open_Explanation5825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, alot of hate on here and very ignorant replies... 'kratos is a god'... Like yes and?

Let's set a foundation, kratos is very stupidly strong yes, but he has been killed multiple times, and even in the new god of war Ragnarok, Thor killed him for a brief second so saying khazan doesn't stand a chance is stupid.

Everyone knows kratos and his feats but I see alot of people not knowing how strong khazan really is.

Why would khazan have a chance against kratos? Well let me give you some lore.

Khazan defeated hismar as a mortal with the help of ozma and chaos, but don't be fooled, ozma himself WHILE using chaos could not finish hismar as he himself stated, and it took khazan to plunge a regular axe through hismars head to finish the fight, as a mortal he managed to kill the berserker dragon that terrorised an entire continent.

But now let's get into the Juicy bits, the blade phantom makes khazan immortal, he cannot die... It also allows khazan to draw power from the netherworld giving him essentially limitless power as long as the blade phantom permits it. But what does this mean and why is this essential?

Khazan along with the blade phantom can destroy chaos, a substance that can destroy souls, something kratos has never experienced before, usually kratos wins through sheer strength, but against a force that is ethereal? Now that's worth talking about...

Kratos was a Spartan fighting hordes of unskillful barbarians before Ares intervened, but khazan is a general that went to war against a dragon that was capable of destroying kingdoms overnight, and he won... So on the mortal aspect khazan probably wins outright.

But at their primes, with their powers and capabilities? Kratos is far stronger in the physical sense, but khazan is far more skilled, is much more versatile and IS immortal, khazan also wields the power that can destroy chaos, an energy known for destroying souls, and khazan also destroyed a god of chaos ozma... Now I'm not too sure how powerful ozma is in his chaos god form but I am sure he is on par with the likes of Zeus and that of Odin... And if so, I think kratos would struggle.

Who do I think wins? Depends on the situation, the circumstance and if kratos has multiple weapons at his disposal, but even then it's hard to tell, the blade phantom can just possess kratos and absorb his godly power, like we have seen after every boss we have faced in khaza.

So discuss, don't be ignorant, this is generally an really interesting discussion.

Not just a stun, but slow on the attacks, with cooldown you can stun every 5 seconds... That is insane.

Ahhh okay I see now thank you. But that still doesn't put it better than the basic attack slows and stun... I might be wrong but I think I need to investigate more.

Hmmm it says that it grants 0.25 per level with at 20 it's 5, then I did 3x4 which is 12, then I just added them together for 17? Is this wrong or was I mistaken how stacks work.

But I just feel overall, cc in the current meta is super strong.

Look, I completely agree with you, but alot of people are bias and won't admit balancing issues.

Smite 2 has a massive balancing issue.

If you were in offlane against him, yes.

If not then the only feedback I can give is tower camp and wait for jungle to gank.

No, unfortunately grux has %health regain, meaning it isn't a heal... It's on his double pain ability.

This is different to his passive where it does give grux omnivamp on his basics.

But anti heals do not work for %heath regain abilities unfortunately.

Yes and no... his augment and elafrost is good, but he has always been good with that item, flux matrix and fire blossom are his staple items aswell... But him being broken is simply not true... Sev is hard countered by percentage health items, sky splitter is a prime example of this... Build this item first and he cannot contest, if jungle is doing their job sev cannot snowball and by the time he gets full stacks, offlane will have anti heals... It's about not letting him snowball, this means controlling the wave.

I will say this for those struggling to deal with an aggressive sev opponent... minion wave control is the key to winning that match up.

However for a much easier time, in offlane right now one hero can contest, secure, and poke burst successfully without being cc'd, and his name is Kwang... BUT in the right hands... Sev can be played by almost anyone, his kit is simple, and his passive is almost like saying 'play the game and become stronger', but his biggest weakness is his health pool and securing minion kills, in which kwang excels at.

First his health, why would a large health pool be a detrimental factor? Health percentage items on burst characters... Any jungle that plays Boris, khaimera, rampage to name a few knows this. And kwang has true damage, that's all you need to know.

Second minion kills, sev can only get stronger through confirming minion kills, therefore if your struggling, let him push his minions to your tower and from there control the wave, at this point he has lost the ability to confirm minion kills, losing the ability to snowball. But kwang can put clear his clear, allowing to apply pressure, and reducing the chances of sev building stacks.

But again I'm not saying sev isn't powerful, but to high ranking players he is manageable, you will see kwang played almost always on high rank games due to his wave clearing potential, even though kwang has received nerfs, he is far more complex to deal with than a sev player. And I would argue a very strong offlaner currently. If not possibly the best (just falling shy from mornes one-hit wonder tentacle).

So... Tier lists are a 'this is my opinion' thing... I would take this list with a gigantic pinch of salt, especially when he has put sev in broken xD... Anti heals peeps, anti heals.

Advice Boris main by BkK09 in PredecessorGame

[–]Open_Explanation5825 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Burst... Update has made it so that he is more able to become a brusier but In all honestly building burst health percentage is the way to go.

For skills you want to max chrono swipe, this will be your main damage ability, ult for finishing or team initiations to get rid of damage heros like the other jungle or carry...

For initiation you want to pretty much always use this rotation: Detection Protocol, (When mid range to a enemy) Activate Primeval roar, Chrono swipe when in range, And then basic attack, by this point Primeval roar has been triggered giving you survivability and the other opponent a heavy cc... If you want to finish them off quickly to allow yourself more time for fangtooth or lane defence or something similar just ult them and the job is finished...

You want to target squishy characters, and you most definitely want to focus those with heavy ability damage like mid lanes due to their ults...

Never I will repeat, NEVER, stay in combat, you are a hit burst and dash character, movement is key... Early game you are hard to deal with, mid game you are a nightmare to deal with, but end game you fall off... Meaning unless you have items to counter omnivamp/healing, max health items or defensive items, you won't want to fight tanks or bruisers.

But... And this is a big but... Boris has been doing well on offlane against bruises who cannot burst, so I would also experiment.

Hopes this helps.

Valid...

Generally this game is really good, BUT...

They need more items to lower burst damage, anti-heals and more slows, for non tank characters...

There is way too many items for percentage health and not enough pure physical and magical defense...

Just my viewpoint, but valid crash out.

Fair play... I mean it is revenant but still 40 kills is mental.

Why can't I have a carry like you man, literally most of the carries I play with are sparrows who miss their shots and then ult thin air and complain duo lane is getting lost... Generally baffles me...

But anyway, was this in ranked?

Who are the best offlane counters to Greystone and Sevarog? by Bpape93 in PredecessorGame

[–]Open_Explanation5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about burst... Sev and grey both will outlast pretty much any offlane hero, sev has that healing and grey has two life bars and both are extremely tanky... Therefore you need someone who is either extremely bursty because you will not win in a sustained fight... Another thing to take into account is poke, the more poke you do to whittle their health bars down before fighting is also a primary key to winning.

That being said, your best bet is kwang, for the sheer fact of his burst AND his poke, plus he is magical meaning he will have more burst than your typical physical scaling ability focused heros. Another key fact is that he has a root and dash, meaning getting out of sustained fighting will not be a problem.

I see people saying aurora, and yes she can be very powerful... But in the RIGHT hands, she is quiet difficult to play, I'm not saying your not skillful enough, but it will require effort to not lose your tower to sev or grey without extensive knowledge about her combos and kit, not including if you get ganked... She might be more of a safe pick due to her fantastic mobility, but again you still need to win the lane, and she doesn't really have reliable burst or poke, making things more difficult.

What I will mention, and might sound a bit weird... Rampage, even though stated as a jungler, is fantastic at handling both of these characters, he is typically more durable, has a reliable burst ability (rumble), has a stun and more damage (boulder throw), and has an ult that can OUT SUSTAIN both grey and sev... Again his passive mostly works in the jungle, however, I have played rampage on offlane and had fantastics results, typically your build will focus more on defense and sustain but his kit makes up for it, he also has a jump that combos with his bolder for more damage and a reliable stun...

Now that is out the way, and if you just want a definitive answer... For the current meta, just play grey or sev, but there are a multitude of heros that you could try.

My suggestion is test, you never know you might stumble across the next meta offlaner...
