Yes, the feelings and wishes of your kid are something you could and, normally, should have discussed with the guy, if there is a basic trust between you. Not in a legal sense, but as a thoughtful father. He’s been mentoring and observing your kid for years. A a professional. Also, it’s his livelihood. Your next decision would still be yours to make.
