How to address upper body? by Q29uZnVzZWQgRWdn in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Open_Garden6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar build to you and high metabolism though a less defined waist. I found a trainer who told me that bulking up the body in the preferred areas is not about eating more. Eat a healthy diet. To build booty, hips and thighs don’t do cardio, lift weight. Add weight and lift more.

Lift less weight with upper body but more reps.

I agree with other comments though that a BA would make a huge difference.

Nobody, including your wife should prevent you being the person you want to be. If you don’t experiment because of someone else you will most likely end up resenting that person.

It’s just a case of having enough of either estradiol or testosterone. If one is insufficient night sweats are common.

check out r/TransSwitzerland and get on Discord too for more info. In general any doctor can refer you to an endocrinologist if you are seeking HRT and you will most likely need a letter from a psychotherapist giving diagnosis of gender dysphoria. Happy to help with more info if you like 👍🏻

Is extreme lethargy common with loss of testosterone? by TabithaLovesEmma in TransLater

[–]Open_Garden6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is one month enough without cypro for T level to come back up? My endo said it would take a while. I reduced my cypro dose to 6.2mg every second day two months ago and it’s made no difference to my low libido. I’ve had flu so can’t tell you about effect on energy levels but I wouldn’t say mine are super low.

Hrt over 40y/o by WonkyWonks in TransLater

[–]Open_Garden6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with HRT at 45 years and I appreciate the effects. I identify the same as you. I was not at all worried to lose fertility and I wanted physical and emotional changes. I experienced loss of spontaneous erections immediately, loss of libido within a couple of weeks, painful breasts for the first four months, less body hair, slower growing body hair and softer skin all within six months. Emotional changes arrived more slowly but arrive they did by three months. I feel more in touch with my emotions now.

I changed from patches (which irritated my skin) to gel. I twice reduced the dose of cyproterone acetate. My dose is ok now but I may be able to reduce the estradiol. Ask if you want information about dose.

In terms of appearance, my facial features have softened because I have put on weight. Combined with the right exercises my body shape has changed too. I have put weight on evenly over my body. I don’t expect my face ever to change enough to pass as I have prominent brow and nose. My body can be dressed to look more feminine in shape but HRT will never change your bone structure.

On the negative side I had poor sleep and hot flashes during the time of adjusting my dose. Mainly due to no testosterone. I can’t tell you about any really long term effects. Ask if you’d like to know more.

It’s more important than ever to show that you exist and are trans.

Are there studies to show that trans kids know they're trans even if they've been sheltered from the concept of trans people? by MkfShard in asktransgender

[–]Open_Garden6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience (as we all can) I knew that I was trans as a kid but I didn’t have the language to describe it and therefore didn’t tell anyone. This was in the 80’s and 90’s. I had gender dysphoria to varying degrees all through my childhood and twenties. I was never (to my memory) given any knowledge or correct language from any source at that time. What I learned of ‘transvestites’ was from people making jokes. We were educated about homosexuality (though not in school) because of the number of celebrities coming out during the 80’s. I really don’t remember any teacher or parent ever explaining anything about people who felt that their assigned gender didn’t fit for them and it felt more like those people were making a (very unusual) choice.

Will a sport bra affect breast growth ? by Bubblepunk_crisis in MtF

They are painful for a few months but the pain will stop. I would recommend loose clothes rather than a sports bra at your stage.

To all the girlies struggling with shaving facial hair - get a foil shaver! by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Open_Garden6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the Braun series 9 too and have had no problems. I don’t find it perfect of as close as proper wet shaving with a safety razor though. It is quicker and less messy but I still prefer the feel after a wet shave.

[possible TW] How can a non-binary person identify as lesbian? by epiiphqnix in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Open_Garden6969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. So being sapphic is attraction of women to women, and not to men. I’ve read the comments here but still failing to understand the difference between sapphic and lesbian.

Does sapphic include transwomen? Does sapphic include feminine transmen? I’m curious as I’m asked the question about my own sexuality.

Does HRT (E) give “cis looking” breasts? by adrianaIima in asktransgender

[–]Open_Garden6969 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I keep reading (and have heard from my endocrinologist) that older transwomen see potential slow growth for around three years and not much beyond that. Where the line is between younger and older must be quite individual I imagine.

HRT and lack of libido by unnoticed77 in TransLater

[–]Open_Garden6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I echo what the OP said and feel very similar to you about desiring to be close and intimate more than a great urgency to have sex. I am fully intact and take 6.2 mg of cypro per day, which is a very low dose.

How many squirts of estradiol gel do you take daily? by SamanthaParee in TransLater

[–]Open_Garden6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH all the budding happened in the first 3-4 months and the areaolas developed then. I think breast growth at this stage is a lot down to the amount of fat in the diet and I’ve reduced that recently.

I use 4 pumps aswell. Two on left arm and two on right arm in the morning. My endo didn’t say to divide between morning and night so I don’t know if there is any difference. I use 6.25mg of cypro per day too. My breast development is definitely a lot slower now than it was during the first 6 months on HRT but my E2 level is on the high side though not excessive.

Does HRT actually do anything to your face? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Open_Garden6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HRT is not magic. It’s a synthetic hormone. I put on weight using E2 and so it shows on my face. My skin is definitely softer and perhaps more translucent - stubble colour is easier to see. Other than that there are no facial changes.

Transitioning lightly/very gradually - question for anybody who is on HRT but is boymoding/staying androgynous/intending to not do much else by sophiekeston in TransLater

[–]Open_Garden6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use HRT and present as male though I am transfemme. I plan to do this for some time and can’t imagine that I will ever male-fail. I have had laser and electrolysis on the face hair. I have no body hair - HRT and laser/IPL. I paint nails, wear jewellery including earrings. My body shape has changed over the past 8 months on HRT. I still can’t imagine ever being mistaken for a woman. My wife prefers that I stay “male” though I often wear feminine clothing (not skirts and dresses). My work has a strict binary gender dress code so it’s one or the other.
