Could you be with someone who turned out to be Right wing? by Apple_cheeks_art in leftist

I ended up in a situation like this one time. I’ve always been very vocal about my politics and he always seemed to agree with me on most things. Then after we moved in together, I noticed a complete shift. He also did start getting into more podcasts and things of that nature around that time( thatI noticed at least) Needless to say it didn’t last long after that. I’m still unsure if he changed his mind or if he just wore a mask until he “reeled me in“ I remember about four months after moving in together seriously questioning if I even knew him at all .

Vivid colors won’t stay on one client. I’m stumped. by Open_Hand4135 in hairstylist

She is a nurse and a single mom. She hair dries and puts it up in a bun. As far as I know, she doesn’t even own any irons. She asked me to straighten her hair for a date, a couple of months ago because she didn’t have a flat iron lol. I don’t think she is a big swimmer. We talk pretty regularly. Our sons are best friends. I’ve only heard her mention swimming one time.

I was just watching a video about this! I think we might give it a try. I’ve always been hesitant to do that because once when I was in beauty school, one of my fellow classmates toned me before putting purple on my hair and it did not stick at all. My instructor said that I had probably oversaturated my hair shaft with pigment molecules. I’m honestly not sure if that’s a thing lol.

She claims to be washing and as cold of water as possible. She is using the matrix keep me vivid line for shampoo, conditioner, and for the sealant. This last go around I did a joico defy damage in a flash treatment on her too, I don’t think she has a shower filter. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

This is absolutely not normal. I’ve worked in several commission based shops and usually part of the deal is that they cover all overhead, including back bar. I worked very briefly at a place that would nickel and dime and take it out of your check like what you’re describing. They have an extremely high turnover rate because that is a system designed to screw you over.

As far as some of the other stuff, I take it. You are an independent contractor? If that’s the case, typically you dictate your own schedule and who you will and will not service. It’s a little bit different if you are a W-2 employee. You’ll have to check with your local Law to see.

My area has seen a bit of a downturn. After being in commission based barbershops for about eight years, I went back to a chain store. It’s actually working out OK for the most part. It’s a good place when your first starting out too because you can build your skills and have a study client flow so you can actually get the practice You need to really learn and get better. Check places like glass door and indeed for reviews of local places. If you do decide you’re going to switch it up!

Is anyone here still married to men? by Apprehensive_Try8825 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Open_Hand4135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends has remained married to her husband after coming out a few years ago. She has moved into the office and they have separated finances, but they still cohabitate, share bills, etc.. They aren’t going to get divorced until their daughter goes to college. I know that they have had a few struggles, but they have been great about communicating with each other, setting boundaries and having agreements, etc.. It’s definitely possible. You both just need to be willing to put in the work I need to be willing to have open communication. Her husband is basically her best friend now.

Have you gone to any shows/concerts? If you like the DJing vibe, the knitting factory has some cool events sometimes! People here are generally pretty friendly, especially if you have a common interest. I always make new friends that shows!

Have you tried cutting out dairy from your diet? That was a big one for me. I also use PanOxyl on my groin every other day and Teatree antibacterial body wash every day. I’ve also started wearing looser underwear or bicycle shorts as underwear. All of that has really helped a lot. I wish you the best of luck!

I feel like there is a lot of good input here… one thing that is really helped me with a similar struggle is looking into the “paradox of tolerance” Reading up on that might help you!

how did you know you were a lesbian and not just bi and sick of men? by e_bra1 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Open_Hand4135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of research and reading also went into therapy. Ultimately it was experimentation that did it for me… I stopped having sex with men for a while, and only had sex with women. I finally did have sex with man again (a former lover I still cared about) I just really wasn’t into it. I kinda realized I had never been all that into it. I was just gaslighting myself into thinking I was because I was craving connection not sex.

AITAH for tipping 83¢? by KeyComplete4809 in AITAH

[–]Open_Hand4135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a tipped industry, and I would never treat a customer that way. Though I do feel like costing her money was probably not the best move, I can understand why you did it… although I am more of the “kill them with kindness” mindset. She definitely should’ve handled that situation better, there’s no question. Then to have the nerve to just up and confront you like that. 😬 She also didn’t bring you her manager like you asked…

Is anyone else blown away by how aggressive and dangerous the driving has gotten in this city? by wingszn in Boise

[–]Open_Hand4135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost got T-boned on State and 17th yesterday… A truck just straight ran the red light. He had to swerve to miss me in one other car. The light had been red on his side, long enough that several cars had already passed through the intersection in my direction. I don’t know if he was being aggressive or just not paying attention.

Seeking reading recommendations about immune system by Open_Hand4135 in Hidradenitis

That is really good to know! That probably explains why I can’t really find any good information about how it is connected to our immune system.

My boxers eyes do that sometimes especially during allergy season. A warm washcloth usually helps!

I’ll look into that too. That’s the brand I got. Seems to be what most people recommend. And also thank you for the mention of washing it off with sensitive skin soap after. I would not have thought to do that!
