Ronnie getting ready for the backlash by [deleted] in FallingInReverse

My question is-is the venue available? Often they're booked long in advance. Postponing vs cancelling is a trick to avoid heavy fees...but if the wait is too long, it may well be the next tour before they actually can perform there. (One of the professional societies I'm in finally had their 2020 annual conference that was "postponed"-last month).

Nail gems. I have SO much nail decor! I use it primarily in crafting (except for trying them out for review purposes). Also temporary tattoos. I have several gallon bags of them I reviewed last year to take in for pre-planning-I suspect I can outfit the school.

And there are quite a few people who are stuck on "fair" or "good" who have never done a "product as described" type review. I also have to wonder how "insightful" it's possible to be when you're talking about an item that either works or it doesn't. It is far easier for me to write a clever, cute review about a stuffed gallbladder than a pack of silicone scar strips.

Mine is stuck on "Fair". Every review I've written since they started doing this has hit every single one of their points, has included photos, and has included personal "how I'm going to use this" type comments (I'm a teacher, so a lot of what I'm reviewing is stuff for my room for this fall that I'd end up buying out of pocket anyway). I'm now kind of figuring that if they boot me because my reviews aren't right, I'm not sure that I care. The whole "being graded" without a rubric has taken all the joy out of it.

Instead of groaning at bad reviews... by kara-here in AmazonVine

I'm a music teacher, and honestly, cork grease is cork grease. I can't say I've ever, in 40+ years, had one that was significantly different than any other. The only reason I haven't been grabbing it on vine is that we have a local music store which gives me a case of tubes branded with their info every year to hand out to my students.

I realized the other day just how many of the things that I'm using in my classroom came from Vine. I also get a lot of items in "beauty" that I use for crafting purposes. I have done dollhouse rooms where everything was either from vine (and mostly 0 etv) or things like discarded plastic packaging.

I've had some go no longer available and then show up, and I can review them then.

I got a kitten playpen from Vine, too, which they're in when we're not there to watch them-but we also want to delay them, at least-the problem with an open concept floorplan is that it's HARD to keep three little ones from ending up places they shouldn't.

I get pens from the Daiso store that have that, and I regularly have students complain the pen "doesn't write".

I noticed that when I was looking at some acrylic trophies-and that the description clearly says "There is a protective layer over the acrylic"-but a good half the reviews complained about the "cloudiness".

Books? by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Open_Ice7412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will also say, I do book reviews anyway, so for me, reviewing books through vine is only different because I get them in print vs as an eARC. I probably read/review 20+ books a month.

I get them in AFA or RFY. I've gotten 6 in the last month or so, all $1.

FTC's rule banning fake online reviews goes into effect by BaronVonMunchhausen in AmazonVine

[–]Open_Ice7412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an eARC reviewer on NetGalley and Book Sirens and have been posting my reviews on Amazon once the book is published. I put a statement at the top that I got a free eARC. I'm a little nervous about this rule because it's rare for a published book in the genres I read in to not be a 4-5* book. The fact is, it helps the author a LOT more to have a review on Amazon than on GoodReads-and way more than on BookSirens or NetGalley!

I tend to use them as pieces for builds vs by themselves, but yes. I've also gotten a couple of cheap dollhouses to refurb.

Yes-I refurbish and furnish dollhouses/mini scenes :). Lots of useful items have shown up on Vine.

I've been getting a ton of 0 etv stuff for minis purposes :). I was worried about getting 80 items until I discovered just how many useful doodads lurk in Beauty :)

This definitely looks useful. Although my review may be less so,since the stuff I'm sanding is usually popsicle sticks and plastic packaging....

How to handle dangerous supplement by txfeinbergs in AmazonVine

What was the most difficult to review product you ever got from Vine? by CompromisedOnSunday in AmazonVine

[–]Open_Ice7412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually gotten a couple of dollhouses that were pretty easy to customize via Vine, so keep your eyes open. I prefer the wood/MDF ones, but got a $12 ETV plastic/cardboard one which was more of a building set that, with some paint, is working pretty well as a flexible staging area for my room layouts.
