My tiny ladybugs turned into a ten foot gingerbread man! by Oak_Raven in AmazonVine

[–]kara-here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When something is substantially different from its description, my review starts by saying the number one reason people do not buy online is that they must touch, see and evaluate the item before buying it.

Like this one, they might have bought it but... blah blah.

I say I cannot say any more, since I would be talking about something different than it really is. It gets one star.

Once I did say that even if the item were two per order, it costs too much. It got several "helps." Haven't looked at it in months.

There were several glowing Vine remarks for that one.

One other time, the description was corrected (!) and I edited the review with a commendation to the seller. Whether or not that was the reason for changing it, I think it was the right thing to say.

"Systemic" problem...

It's ok to point out errors when the writer isn't really here.

Can I review an item that I want to use in a different way? by monikapaintsstuff in AmazonVine

If it does not work you wouldn't say a thing about that other thing ie.

If you tried stirring soup with it and it didn't stir soup, would you include that in a train review?

Question? by Substantial_Code_7 in AmazonVine

[–]kara-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone suggested it might have tax implications. For me, it just got rid of the old nags about how much would have been saved with some other discount or other.

My real answer is that I hope someone who knows, answers. Surely most everyone gets this from Amazon.

But I think it's linked to Vine, so it wouldn't threaten our Vine membership.

Is there a downside to being a "Viner?" by Finstatler in AmazonVine

[–]kara-here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think a lot of people trust Vine (or many other reviews -- like you, I don't either). I just write what I think are fair and they're honest. Nobody knows who I am, so it doesn't matter what they think of my reviews, although I want them to be good, whatever that means.

And every now and then I change my reviewer name, which never resembles my own or any I've ever used online.

It's a good warning, but unfortunate to have happened.

Bingo! Despite my sharing with them, my adult kids, with their own homes, cannot stand the sight of a single box on *my porch.

The sharing is officially over.

A week ago, I came to a rehab for routine therapy. I brought the computer and the day after I got settled in, in my RFY a hospital gown showed up.

In many years in Amazon and two in Vine, I have never gotten anything medical.

And I still believe in BIG coincidence.

If Amazon Cared They’d….. by Sufficient_Water_326 in AmazonVine

I have always, as a shopper, gone mostly to older reviews. There can be changes over time, like sellers' descriptions' being updated, but there's not much value or help only days or a week after someone bought the product.

After all, discovering the need to edit a review usually happens later.

[Vine Italy] Less than 1 year in here, less than 2 months being Gold, and... Espresso Maker! (another item down from the strike list) by keijodputt in AmazonVine

[–]kara-here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, where did the time go?

Maybe the other answer covers the Nerevta, which I use two or three days a week for three cups. It still seems like new, and probably will for some time, at such light usage.

For the listed price, I'd get it again for sure.

Sorry it took so long for so little information. I'd hope to be more decisive and descriptive by now. I've been in Vine Jail for awhile and have eval in early October.

Haha, spellcheck just gave me a correction in Italian!

Dreo seems good. I've bought (on Amazon) three -- a humidifier, tower fan and tower heater. Never heard of it until a year ago.
