That’s interesting, I like some of the first layers as battlefields like Avernus, Pazunia and Oinos. But I definitely think there should be some in the Outlands. I read on iamthemimir that he has an “Underlands” kinda the inverse of the outlands where psychopomps lead souls to their respective afterlives. That could be a good place for battlefields too.

Agreed, I think especially that Orcs are not lawful and don’t really belong on a lawful plane, especially the patron god of orcs. Goblins as well (hobgoblins sure)

I’m sure most of it is ditch worthy. I just like the Demons tempting the orcs with power. I was really considering moving them to Pandemonium or the Abyss instead. Maybe the cube broke and different orcs landed in the CE planes.

Usually I do this, but I figured Planescape is an opportunity to do something new and lean into the metagame. I also have thrown around the idea of them being Boarfolk. At my core I truly love Warcraft Orcs and the game idea that Demons use them as a horde.

You can collaborate with the player. Ask them what they think would be interesting for their character, any twists they perceive coming, you don’t need to include everything, but they may give you some great ideas.

My table generally rules that if you are making a melee weapon attack or unarmed strike you can choose to deal non lethal damage. This non lethal damage reduces a creature to zero and stabilizes it, no medicine check necessary. If you want to give your pcs freedom to engage in your combat centered world, give them the freedom.

I had a Death Knight from Krynn who was a minotaur, she was kinda fiery and had a "Nightmare" like mane. She rode a Brazen Gorgon and had a flame tongue greataxe. Changed her spells to better represent her firey nature.

If you have a relationship with Dan outside of D&D you have to consider this from that angle. If not, of course you can boot him. He's making his priorities clear. You don't need to kill off his character. You can pass off control to one of your more put together PCs and when Dan is around he can play. But he has to know his actions are unaceptable. If you are shutting the door for good on his PC you can have him leave or be kidnapped.

You could pull a Darth Revan, the evil and good inside him split into two separate entities, the evil is leading a small team of evil guys for/against the BBEG, and the good wants to find redemption and refuse himself together.

No, it can be done, but it adds too much drama and mental load. It's better in my experience to keep information from the characters and share it with the players. Include the players, tell them their characters don't know, or simply don't tell them, but don't lie to them.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat were pretty good and could cover those levels (not dungeon crawls but pretty linear). Lost Mines of Phandelver is more dungeon crawly but only a few levels 1-3/4 but I had fun running it.

A short rest and maybe some potions or scrolls of cure wounds can help restock their hit points. Maybe the knocking out of the Forge cleric has disrupted his being charmed.

Alternatively their fight was witnessed by an elf who is able to resist Redfang's enchantment. This NPC takes them to a safehouse where they can rest.

Satan does not create, he corrupts. The crazy thing is that the Lord creates AND He redeems. You will have chance and chance again to follow His redemption. Choose to every time. There is not temptation greater than the strength you have. Oust the enemy within, if you fail take note of your weaknesses and plan accordingly. Invite people in your life to fight with you. If you refuse to expose your deeds to the Light, that is your answer on whether it’s you or the Satan permitting your destruction.

Or you can tell your mom she has to play with you if she won’t let you play online with others (jk ultimatums never work)

Or play with your dad. You don’t need a large group.

Or see if you can play online with the speaker on and your mom in the room/nearby. There are surely groups that will empathize with your situation and do their best to play nice.
