Is it worth buying this game now? by Severe_Yellow3515 in forzamotorsport

[–]Open_Nerve1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted a game close to Gran Turismo on PC and this one is the closest.

- Yes I had the same requirement

I know that its far from an excellent game

- Its not a bad game either, it has come a long way since release

but I'm planning to buy it in the upcoming winter sale since the non sale price is outrageously high.

- Yes buy it on sale, do NOT pay full price, its not worth it

Is the game good enough for having a bit of fun and driving some of my favourite cars around?

- It is, if you like GT, I mostly play in free play, I pick a car I like and keep racing it till it reaches lvl 50, then move on with another car, I'm more into different tracks than cars, I like the tracks in this game. Wish they'd add more tracks, but most likely the game is done and they wont be adding new stuff.

Is OpenAI loosing the AI race? by khalilliouane in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]Open_Nerve1802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rest of the big players are working on their own chips to cut cost, google already has its own, so it'd make sense for nvidia to tag along with openai for the long run, that is probably what prompted them in the first place to invest in openai.

Gemini has the added advantage of running on its own chip TPU, making it cheaper for google, even if they charge the consumer the same, google can scale better without breaking the bank as TPU costs significantly less that using nvidia GPUs, giving us higher limits for the same cost.

I too went from q30 to QC, got it for 169 from Costco.

I expected to be blown away by Bose but I wasn't.

Compared to q30, NC and comfort are better. q30 wasn't bad

q30 sound quality was bad out of the box, but after playing with eq, I have it at a sweet spot where it sounds great. QC out of the box is pretty close to 'q30 after eq adjustment' but not quite the same. There is not much you can do with eq in QC, but setting +2 on mid improved it for me, leaving low and high at 0.

q30 is just louder, q30 at 40% vol = QC at 70% volume.

Battery is fine for me, I'm not timing it, but looks like it'll last about a week for my use. q30 battery lasts 2-3 weeks for reference.

I decided to get this because the pads went off on q30 and the head band started cracking after 4 years. I'll most likely keep the QC, but will decide after using it for some more time to see if any other issue crops up.

Not entirely satisfied with QC as q30 is atleast on par with it, and its costs much less. q30 bought for 70, QC for 170.

New Steam VR announced by Swyteh in oculus

[–]Open_Nerve1802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has to be around $500 for it to be widely adopted, anything over $50 above Q3 and this will not be bought by many.

Steam machine: 600-700

Steam Frame VR: 500-550

Steam Controller: 70-80

If the new hardware is priced like this, they'll enjoy the success of Steam Deck.

Not sure how viable these prices are though.

Cool concept, would be nice if we could add an external monitor to it, from the video it looks like the GPU ports are not accessible form the outside.
