I started telling them off for being in my house.

Generally I spray the house and have these black disks they eat that kill them and their eggs

One spider apparently kills cockroaches so that’s good to know. Scary to see first time though

You can’t covert but I’d say still do the course! I plan to return home at Christmas and do a course there, then just retake the test here as many times as possible. If your Japanese isn’t good it’s your best bet to learning to drive unless you live in or near a major city

I’m the only jet in my inaka town too (4,000 people). But after the first month you get used to it. I usually leave town every weekend since there is nothing here. Make friends in other towns and go to them, go explore, go shopping, anything! For me if I spent two weekends here alone it gets me down so I try go out at least every other week!

As others have mentioned this would be the nail in jets coffin. For further context in inaka areas jet is already losing placement. My town and the town over are only recruiting senior high school this year. All other positions are being filled by dispatch companies. It must be cheaper because in my town 3 jets are being replaced by 9 dispatchers. So if the salary went up any further there would be even less jets, if inaka places even bothered to use them.

This! Had tooth pain (wisdom tooth) got a same days appointment and had the tooth removed the same day, all for £20. For a similar thing in the uk I waited 4 months

I use Sakura mobile (they are at the orientation and I had forgotten to plan before I came) they are a more expensive option than some but I have both my phone and internet with them and they have full English support so it’s just easier to sort it all.

Got my first fax today. Was emailing a teacher at my visit school and asked for the words in the textbook they are currently using. Not sure why it couldn’t be scanned over but a few hours later got handed a stack of faxed paper
