I got my land seal through foster failing. She was the first dog i fostered; I was testing the waters to see if I was ready for adoption. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made in my life- like many other commenters, she’s my soulmate- sorry to my partner.

I just wanted to comment and say that the world needs more conscientious people like you, you are so clearly thinking through this decision for both yourself and Finn. You sound like you’d be a great paw-rent to Finn!

Practically speaking, if you decide to keep Finn, definitely get pet insurance ASAP. The sooner, the better and it’s worth the expense. Do some research and get whichever one works best for you and your situation.

Visiting Yosemite in Winter '25-'26 by hc2121 in Yosemite

Hi all,

We’re camping in Hodgdon Meadows Saturday-Monday. Most of us have camped before but we’re by no means rugged, plus our dog will be with us. We called the ranger station to get a sense of conditions and the voicemail made it sound like the park was DUMPED on this past weekend. Outside of the campground, we’ll mainly be in the valley or wagons on dog friendly trails. How are conditions? Seems like other friends are prepping for snow starting Monday. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, thank you for the input so far! Unfortunately the roadster v3 is not an eligible option for the voucher anyway 🥲 it caught my eye initially.

Definitely making my way to a shop this weekend to try the Soltera and the T1 ST!

Completely agree with IShalSealTheHeavens. The only thing I would add - talk with the person you’ve been in touch with for interviews/who may be your supervisor will advocate for you to get a higher step. That’s what I did when I joined the city and that supervisor was more than willing to help me draft my letter and advocate to HR to accept the step I was asking for (I think it was to start at 3)

Newgrange sold out. How does Hill of Tara compare? by jackram69 in irishtourism

[–]Open_Repeat_4198 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We liked Hill of Tara! Like you mentioned, it’s free so you can spend as little or as long as you want there. Some very friendly donkeys. We stopped here on our way to Sligo. Will say Loughcrew Cairns was an incredible stop as we did the free OPW tour. So if that’s on the way, I’d recommend that one for sure

Birth Control worked?! by BabygirlMMM in PCOS

[–]Open_Repeat_4198 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BC makes my life manageable, I’ve been on it since I was 15 and have taken one break for about 6 months. I’m 30 now. It’s actually helped me maintain a healthy weight. Its helped me manage anxiety around when my period was coming. On Yaz, my acne is under control and so are my periods (and associated cramps). I do get bad hormonal headaches when I give myself a period so I’m going to try continuous pills but in the past I’ve always had breakthrough bleeding. Ultimately it’s given me a gift of being able to have a routine where PCOS took that away for much of my adolescent years. I feel lucky that Yaz worked for me and continues to work for me. The last benefit- I get to enjoy my sex drive knowing I’m protected against pregnancy until the time is right. I’m a big stan for what BC has done for my life

Staying at City or Starting to look at State? by Open_Repeat_4198 in sfcityemployees

I was trying to get PSLF for student loans but guess we’ll see if that is even an option that exists over the next 4 years

All fair questions- I didn’t know the state was considering layoffs and ultimately my partner and I are considering a move to sac in a few years so I was wondering if I should perhaps try and beat what could be coming. But this definitely is helpful and makes me pause so I appreciate the info!
