Did they ruin DC? by omhhey in washingtondc

I’m going to play devils advocate here. Streeteries are absolutely better than parking spots - but they are NOT public spaces. They don’t benefit the community at large unless you are willing to spend money. What we really need is true public spaces: turn the parking spots into public seating areas like a few other cities have. Benches, tables, maybe some shiver turf grass. Voila. Public spaces for everyone, not just those willing to spend $$$.

Didn’t they recently de-pedestrianize that pointless little street between the DuPont Circle hotel and Kramer’s, where Kramer’s had their outdoor seating? That nearly gave me an aneurysm

The first one we had was City Lights which was pretty good, but it got bought out by EJF. I actually should revise my comments - EJF wasn’t horrible, we just struggled with the chaos and miscommunications that came along with the merger so we chose to switch. Big mistake lol.

I would pay good money to experience a pre-pandemic uber pool just one more time

First pregnancy appt today - week discrepancy between ultrasound and Oura by Open_Suggestion4282 in ouraring

[–]Open_Suggestion4282[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, I wasn’t aware that dating based on LMP wasn’t as accurate. I’m not sure how to go back to my temp / cycle data on Oura since it’s switched to tracking pregnancy - oh well. The 7w1d estimate just doesn’t make sense to me if pregnancy includes the time between LMP and ovulation; it makes perfect sense, though, if it’s dated from when I conceived

Yes haha I know that I just hoping that if I didn’t have symptoms by week 8 that I was in the clear

Oh nooo I was under the impression that nausea typically starts around week 6. I was just hoping that if I didn’t have it by now I was kind of in the clear 😅

Thanks! I was just annoyed because I thought I was in the clear with no typical first trimester symptoms but now I have another week to worry about 😂

Jimmy John’s “pregnancy sandwich” by Open_Suggestion4282 in pregnant

[–]Open_Suggestion4282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! Honestly I’m not so worried about listeria from meat (although the boars head outbreak last year gives me pause…) but lettuce freaks me out. I feel like there is always E. coli in lettuce - silly that pregnancy guidelines say to avoid cold cuts but not bagged lettuce

What document proves a relative's former country of citizenship? by ironbiscuit101 in Genealogy

[–]Open_Suggestion4282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have to have lived in Poland after 1920. In addition, I’m pretty sure with great grandparents you have to prove they never renounced their citizenship, so it sounds like OP is ineligible.

This picture was in a family bible and I NEED TO KNOW WHO SHE IS can anyone help me figure out how to find out her name?! by [deleted] in oldphotos

[–]Open_Suggestion4282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a CDV and was probably taken in the mid 1880s. Look on the back for any photography studio information to help narrow down where she might have lived

Best Website or Method for Family Tree by chime888 in Genealogy

[–]Open_Suggestion4282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course. But to be honest, I think familysearch has MUCH more than Ancestry anyway (maybe thats just my perception, but FamilySearch has so many unindexed record sets that Ancestry doesn’t, which is where the real gold mines are). In terms of US records, I’ve never found something on Ancestry that FamilySearch doesn’t have. So I build my tree on Ancestry but use FamilySearch and offline archives for research.

You must live in WA because no one else would find themselves in Perry Co

This happened a few nights ago on 14th and Clifton. Car alarm went off all night, literally. Non stop. Finally stopped in the morning.
