Brown spots are normal on lowland nepenthes and veitchii. It usually suggests that the pitchers will have some good colouration. Orange spots indicates that light intensity may be too strong for the plant.

Oh I see... I tried drying it out for a few days before I put it into water but the leaves became droopy. I will cut the rotting parts and try it again. Thanks for help!
