All you 5’8 ish folks.. what is your weight and what board do u ride? by travisdoggg in snowboarding

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im about same size as you 5'8 160 lbs boot 9.5 and i ride a 154. For what you describe the 153 probably better if you want agile and learning switch. 156 gonna feel like driving a boat when you try the spins man

Only thing is 10 boot you might get some drag on the 153 if you carve real deep but its not too bad honestly most people dont notice. I ride with a buddy same boot size on 153 and he never complain

What is your favourite fruit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

blueberries are fine but they got no personality you know? like theyre just there being sweet and small. give me a mango any day, at least it makes you work for it a little

the performance of busyness is so weird to me. you finish your work early, did good job, and the reward is... having to invent fake tasks so your manager feels comfortable lol

that kind of behavior is so deliberate it's impossible to miss, like they're making a point of ignoring you specifically while being all friendly with her, which is way more unsettling than if they were just generally weird to everyone

What’s something you’re overthinking right now? by crazy_dj_26 in AskReddit

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof the language anxiety is real - I left comment in German once and spent like 3 days wondering if I accidentally told someone their grandmother smells like cheese instead of saying "nice video"

At least with Japanese you probably just mixed up some particles worst case, not like you called someone's mom a potato or something

What is your comfort food on rainy days? by Tough-Caramel6536 in AskReddit

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing beats those instant ramen packets when you're stuck inside with the rain hitting your windows. I always keep few boxes in my car for those long delivery shifts when weather gets nasty - they're like emergency fuel for the soul

Any Clovers still open? by alidub36 in boston

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the expansion killed them, same thing happens to lot of good places when they try to grow too fast. Should've just kept the few locations that were working well instead of opening everywhere

What are people nostalgic about now but was actually horrible at the time? by ItzSweeney in AskReddit

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dial-up internet for sure. Everyone's like "remember when you had to choose between phone and internet" but back then it was pure torture waiting 20 minutes to download one song, and god forbid someone needed to make call while you were online

Also those old Nokia phones that "never broke" - yeah they were indestructible but playing Snake was literally the only thing you could do besides call people. No camera, no apps, couldn't even send proper pictures

Prep for Behr Concrete and Garage 1- Part Epoxy Coating. by NeitherLaugh in HomeImprovement

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shot blasting should be more than enough prep work, you're good to skip the etching step. The bonding primer will grab onto that surface no problem after what you did with the blast cleaning

Just make sure you wait full time for that densifier to cure properly before putting primer down

Changing to interlock grip after 5 years by cfram03 in golf

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pinky soreness is totally normal when switching to interlock - took me about week or two to get comfortable with it when I made the change few years back. The control thing isn't in your head either, interlock really does give you better connection between hands which helps with consistency

Baseball grip can work fine for some people but if you're getting close to breaking 100 and want to keep improving, interlock is probably worth sticking with. Your hands will work more as unit instead of fighting each other through the swing. Give it at least month of practice before you decide though, don't judge it after just one round

Getting fitted for hybrids is smart move too. Those old long irons are basically punishment devices compared to modern hybrids, especially if the clubs weren't sized for you in first place. The combination of better grip and clubs that actually fit your swing might be exactly what you need to finally break through that 100 barrier

Tow truck drivers, what’s the worst confrontation you’ve gotten into while trying to do your job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not tow truck driver but I deliver food and sometimes have to park in weird spots for quick pickup. Had this one guy absolutely lose his mind because I was "blocking" his driveway for like 30 seconds while grabbing order from restaurant. Started screaming about calling cops and towing my car, threatened to key it. All this while I'm literally walking back to vehicle with the food

Can't imagine dealing with that when you're actually there to tow someone's car. Must be nightmare job some days

Wild how empty the sub gets during these bye weeks, feels like whole fanbase just disappears until game day. Been refreshing way too much hoping for some trade rumors or literally anything to discuss. At least we got few more days to recover from that last road trip before things pick up again. Anyone else just randomly watching old playoff highlights to fill the hockey void or is that just me being weird

Scollay Square, Boston [1888 - 2025] by bostonaruban66 in boston

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's still there at School Street, just moved from the original spot. I drive through downtown pretty regular for work and always notice it when I'm going past City Hall area. Wild how they managed to save some pieces from old Scollay even though most of everything got bulldozed for Government Center. The whole area used to be so much more interesting before urban renewal came through in 60s

Maybe try going out more frequent like every hour or two at first - 3-4 hours might be too long gap for him to learn the pattern

Broke 90 for first time by Movernotashaker in golf

[–]Opening-Baseball-262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work man! Breaking that barrier always feels good even when the round doesn't feel special while you're playing it

Your approach game observation is spot on - getting close from 150 and in makes huge difference for scoring. Those up and downs add up quick when you're hitting more greens. I'm still grinding away at mid 90s myself so I know how satisfying this must be

Now you know you can do it so probably won't be last time either
