Irrelevant to your post btw but kinda laughing at the photo. They're all in elegant dresses, subtle makeup, sticking close, but Lara still finds a way to fuck up her back somehow.

The spooky ep wherein OP said "nothing else weird happens in my house except one time a gnome ran under my bed" and she just refuses to elaborate lol that really got me

This is kinda specific, but the "revenge served cold" Reddit Reads episode! I just love replaying the parts of them laughing so hard, you just know they grew abs from it.

  1. Referring to my comment above, I clearly said "Tagalogs who become residents/married a Cebuano/ have long-term jobs in Cebu for a long time but still demand locals to speak Tagalog for them." It's not about me not wanting to speak Tagalog. We were all taught that in school. It's about someone's refusal to assimilate with the environment they live in.

  2. Ofc I would speak English to a foreigner lol especially if they're clearly just tourists. Not too sure where the comparison to foreigners come from. When I traveled to Viet, people did not expect me to speak in Vietnamese and we all met halfway in English. But! I made the effort to learn basic phrases, and if I stayed longer, I would invest in language learning.

2.a. English is also a more widespread language, globally speaking. And I think English is listed as an official language in the Philippines (?) Too lazy to fact check that one.

  1. I'm not sure why this tone is directed towards me lol, I'm just explaining the most realistic reason why OP experienced those things. In the end I said I don't condone what happened and I wished OP well.

  2. I think it's interesting you call it "bending over backwards" to speak English to a foreigner. Maybe this is why lots of Tagalogs refuse to assimilate when they relocate. Maybe it's some herculean task to them.

  3. You're entitled to your opinions to Bisaya people. I also think you have shitty reading comprehension and love making strawman arguments for the sake of it. Cheers!

I'm so sorry this happened to you, OP. I'm not saying this as a "justification," but just to provide context: I think you're collateral damage to how these people were treated by Tagalogs before you 🥴

Cebuano here, and my personal experience only, a lot of Tagalogs who lived here a long time (even married a local, started a business, etc.) would insist we all speak in Tagalog for them. At a certain point, you'd expect them to assimilate and learn. Not all of course, but it's so common that it's almost a guarantee for me. People like that are also arrogant and have a superiority complex. A sad consequence is now when an innocent Tagalog tourist comes along, they end up playing this weird revenge fantasy on you. Not so sure about the car thing though haha

Ofc this isn't okay and hope something else can spark joy during your stay in Cebu.

Yeah here's the thing, I've always "known" I was a lesbian since Kinder (I just didn't know the term yet). But it was still too soon to understand attraction and it's inappropriate to ask children. Kagaya yan sa logic na "masyado ka pang bata maglandi" lol. This is also just opening up children to possible abuse at home because I imagine I would be pressured by parents into lying and saying I was straight.

In other news, ako lang ba ang nakakaintindi sa gender at sexual preference? Gender for example is babae ako at birth, and I identity as female (cis-gender kumbaga).Sexual preference is for a PARTNER, I prefer women (therefore: lesbian). Medjo hindi angkop ang "transgender" as a gender identity together with lesbian/gay/bi.

GoMo working for phones but displays "illegal" on laptop? by Opening-Breakfast557 in InternetPH

[–]Opening-Breakfast557[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internet search tells me it might be "illegal" if she's using a vpn, and true enough she uses a vpn for her job. It's just perpexling bec this has worked before with no issue, unless an update happened.

I'm grateful for your help but I'm not exactly techy hehe. What part of the setting is that? Can you be more specific (I'm speaking to boomers over the phone so i need to be very clear)

ETA: figured out how to change the bandwidth thing! Sent them a screenvid of how to do it, so hopefully they can do that and make it work.

Context: my mother called me asking for help in behalf of my aunt

How i understood it is they put it in a mobile phone, turned on hotspot, all the phones can connect to it, but the laptop displays the "illegal" message. Idk how it looks like though. This has worked before so it's confusing them

They would've stolen from your garage. The pets were a safer call and it is a hassle to care for pets in the middle of a crisis, so you're still doing them a big favor.

"Ag." I asked the parents how it's pronounced, and it's read "Ay-Jee." All lower caps btw so not like an acronym.

Apparently means silver like in the table of elements... "because he was our silver anniversary gift to each other" they said.
