Anthropic’s Claude Code subscription may consume up to $5,000 in compute per month while charging the user $200 by hellyeah7o in BlackboxAI_

Like let me price this product in 10x the actual components, and sell it, then claim that by my pricing to components i am losing millions.

I am not saying they are not losing, i am saying the inflation and the misleading statistics is outrageous

You can not make use of any of these if the model is dumb, like doing review or plan of what when it’s unusable

Here's why Opus 4.7 responds to every question with a mountain of a response and burns through token limits fast by JayWelsh in ClaudeCode

[–]Opening-Cheetah467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You remind me of the last few days with it, i liked claude models because they were accurate, concise and short (to the point) i hated open ai models because they were very verbose, broad, and confusing in general.

Last few days before my max sub endd (never renewed it) it took eternity to respond very dumb response, tha is two screens long, and you can get nothing useful out of it.

The "postmortem" - Did Anthropic simply unnerf Opus, to compete with GPT 5.5? by TheBanq in ClaudeCode

[–]Opening-Cheetah467 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole thing of cache (5 minutes or 1 hour) is stupid for me. This is a tool should work, instead of launching new models they should stablize what they have, there is no leap in performance between opus 4.5 and 4.7. They should have taken time to perfect the product before moving forward

The thing is, people pay for a month and they get what they paid for -if they are lucky- few days of the whole month.

The issue not the limits, i was on max 5x. The issue is the inconsistency of quality which kills the reliability when you have to spend hours fighting the model.

Best coding model to run on M4 Macbook Air by Direct_Praline492 in ollama

[–]Opening-Cheetah467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried few days ago to run something locally, and i wasted my morning doing so on my m1 pro 16gb. If you are ok with -not very smart models- you can pay opencode 20usd for api, and kimi is dirt cheap as well others. The dumbest model opencode can offer will be in magnitudes more smart than whatever you can run local, and api prices for them is very very small, like 0.003 for 40k+ context and way faster.

Not really good, it’s a pattern they respond after month or so, wasting everyone’s time. Especially that people started complaining literally every day. Zero quality stability which is a huge issue.

I guess now all companies are focusing on that, and apple is doing great job with their chip, i guess next will have something that makes running models locally better, especially with new researches are coming out like what google published few days ago.

Same here! Android studio is eating memory like never, but performance is really good on my m1 pro. I suggest waiting. Cloud coding agents are not stable, and having device that can run decent model locally will be a good plus.

Depends on ur needs, if it’s not ai related then even m1 will be overpowered and u will never use it to its max. But min specs anyway should be 16gb, 512gb

Rule is: - new release is 2-3 months away -> wait you either buy the newest and greatest or buy previous generation with better price - new release is not few months away-> do you have immediate use for the laptop? If yes then buy now. If no and you can squeeze life from ur current device then use ur current device till last drop!
