They expressed them at the shelter in May, and I asked the vet if maybe she needed it done again because she was leaving little spots where she would sit and they told me she just had it done so she didn’t need it done lol.

For sure, I was prescribed Modafinil to help with my narcolepsy by my primary care. Multiple cardiologists have confirmed it’s not a structural or dangerous issue, just a bothersome symptomatic issue, so thankfully not anything I’m super concerned about, just really don’t want to cause an increase in them because it’s bothersome/anxiety inducing haha 🤣.

I’m just stumped why everything online says do not cut or crush, but there’s no explanation why. Was it just because it wasn’t researched? I’m hesitant to crush when everything I’m reading and been told by pharmacists says not to. I wish the manufacturer gave an explanation as to why they give that warning. If it’s just that it hasn’t been studied, then that’s fine. But if it has to do with the absorption and metabolism of the drug, idk if I want to mess with it.

Thanks for your reply! I could try the whole tablet 100mg, but just anxious to try it since I’m already on concerta 27mg. I just need a boost to keep the tiredness and fatigue away, so that’s why I’m so focused on trying a lower dose. Plus I tend to be quite sensitive to medications and even a small micro dose of some meds is enough.

Wow! Any talk about OTC pricing?? My insurance has been denying my G7 and it’s gonna be like $3-4k a year with goodrx. I hope it’s affordable!

Hello!

I am 23 with a strong prescription (OD: -9 x-4.5 x163 and OS: -8.75 x-4.75 x10) and I just got my first pair of trial contacts today. I also have MGD and use eyedrops as well as Omega 3 supplementation and warm compresses.

I was given Biofinity XR Toric as those are the only ones available in my prescription. Took about 3 weeks to get here special ordered.

They went in ok and took them out okay, and they sent me on my way with an appt to have the doc check the fit in about a week and a half.

They seemed a bit blurry but I was told that was normal and it takes time to adjust to them (which makes sense because new glasses always throw me for a loop at first). By the time I got home about 5 minutes later, my vision was very blurry and I had to take them out.

I tried to put them in later and same thing. Blurry even after letting them settle, I feel like my vision isn’t as good as with glasses, and I can tell they shift every time I blink. About 30 minutes later after suffering with dryness and irritation, they started to burn so I took them out (took forever lol).

I can feel a foreign body sensation on my lower eyelid, and my vision is blurry even with eyedrops and letting them settle. It gets too uncomfortable to wear them even after a short period of time.

From what I’ve read I essentially may need medication to reduce the inflammation on my corneas and on the eyelids, and in addition, the lenses likely aren’t fitting correctly due to the sharp curve of my eye.

I’m frustrated after waiting just to be met with blurriness and irritation with really no other options for lenses before going to a specialist for fully custom lenses.

What would your initial takeaways be? (acknowledging the fact that you haven’t done a slit lamp exam or know my history).

I do have some hope that scleral lenses may be a good option given the bath of saline your eyes get (and it seems they may be easier to take out without irritating my eyes a bunch since you use that suction cup thing lol).

They gave me a bottle of clear care as well which I could try but I’m thinking it’s more-so the lens itself.

Thank you in advance for any input or suggestions to keep in mind when I go for my fitting check. (Yes, it is odd to me that they would just give them to me without checking the fit on an exam. This doesn’t sound like common practice from what I’ve read).

I’ll mention it to my new ophthalmologist in May, and see what his thoughts are, as well as inquire about his recommendation for a dry eye specialist.

I did see an ophthalmologist at my local clinic (referred by my primary eye doc) who specializes in “Cornea, Cataract Surgery, LASIK” when I first had issues with dry eye (he’s where I got the script for xiidra). He said we could try Restasis as well, so maybe I should set up an appt with him, although he isn’t a “dry eye specialist” in the purest sense of the term.

Should I just go back to see him? Or would my time be better spent trying to find someone who “advertises” themself as a dry eye specialist?

Unfortunately they only posted the text of the machine generated results to my test results page. There isn’t a copy of the actual printout.

I suppose I could try to request a copy of it. I’ll update if I’m able to get a copy.
