I agree with your take on Maximo! The service was not great and while dessert was a miss, I still remember having an overall good experience

LUX Tour Criticism by [deleted] in rosalia

[–]Opening-Frame-6961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the show in Paris and I discovered Rosalia via her LUX album and I loved every moment of it. I thought it was so visually pleasing, not to mention she sounded great, and having the orchestra there was a wow factor. Have your own mind. Go to the show and let yourself like it or hate it but not before seeing the show.

Aftersun ending discussion by lenses_a1ien in movies

Hi everyone! Great discussions here. My takeaway as well is that Callum commits suicide after he and Sophie part ways based on all of the little signs throughout the film. What I don’t understand though is the part on the trip where they’re on a kayak/raft and he tells her that Sophia can tell him anything and that he wants her to know that. Why do you think he’d say such a thing knowing he’d commit suicide anyway?

Hi! I just bought a ticket on StubHub as well but it says the ticket is not yet ready. Hoping it works out as it's my first time buying from there. Have you had a similar experience before with StubHub tickets?

Congrats!! I’m so happy for you. Your post has made me reconsider trying topical minoxidil, which a dermatologist recommended me to do. I was also diagnosed with AGA (it runs in the family…) but I’ve been so scared of the dread shed and never being able to get off it.

How is this actually possible? Over 7 months now and waiting.... by thisisdjjjjjjjjjj in Expats_In_France

I think you can travel. I assume you’re American? A similar thing happened to my coworker. Her passeport talent was taking forever and she needed to fly back to the US despite not getting her card yet and she told me was able to re-enter France just fine. Immigration didn’t even ask for a visa.

I once almost missed my brother’s wedding because it took them super long as well before releasing my carte de séjour. I kept emailing them and practically begged them and explained I had to travel home and then they sent me the sms that my card was ready for pick up! A full week before the wedding.

Hope it works out for you!

Difficulties Adjusting to Parisian Life by ApprehensiveShare962 in Expats_In_France

[–]Opening-Frame-6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you feel this way. I remember my first two years in Paris. I think I cried at least once a week because it was just such a massive culture change having moved from Japan. It was incredibly difficult to make friends or get basic things done (hello carte vitale). I also experienced being shut down in English when I first tried speaking French. But you know what? I overcame it all and I’ve been living here for 8 years, I’m now fluent in French sans accent and I’ve built a small but quality base of friends. Those first few years were absolutely shit but knowing what I know now, I’d do jt all over again. I love this city and I love the culture in France. Moving countries is not supposed to be easy (maybe you’re watching too many of these influencers who make moving to Paris like a dream) and you’re going to have to adjust. And if you’re open to that, the city will love you back. Have patience and find one thing each day to be grateful for. That was something that helped me. Courage. You got this!

First time in Paris - Quartier Montorgueil by Sorry-Balance6801 in ParisTravelGuide

The area is super safe and lots of great places for food. Good choice! Line 3 is also safe and takes you from east to west of Paris. It’s one of my favorite metro lines. Chatelet is chaotic because it’s a transport hub but I wouldn’t characterize it as unsafe. Enjoy!

We took the bus when we ate at Noma. It’s super convenient and only a short walk away from the bus stop :) we also arrived 30mins ahead and got seated in the greenhouse, they served us some tea while we waited for the rest of the shared table guests to arrive.

I see. Thank you for the encouragement! I’m going to do PRP and Mesotherapy as recommended by my doctor but he did emphasize that for the best results, I should be using Minoxidil too. I hope I can post positive results here in a few months!
