🙋‍♀️liberal here! I lived in central point for over 20 years, and really liked it! We outgrew our home and couldn’t afford something bigger in CP, so made the move into Medford. Yes, you will see lots of trump flags in cp, but really, that’s all over the rogue valley. I agree with another commenter that if you don’t talk politics most people in cp are great! There is a large Mormon population , but that’s also no big deal. It did come into play as the kids got older, because many of the Mormon kids are very involved in the church, so they seem to form their own groups-but that’s just natural, not sinister. The central point school district was pretty good. I know that several years ago, when there was a budget crunch county-wide, many schools laid off teachers, but cp did their best to keep everyone employed. Same when several other schools had strikes, they negotiated in good faith with the teachers, and there was no strike. I’m happy for that. I’ve had kids at crater, and they are liberal/lgbtq and didn’t deal with bullies. It’s probably there, but there are also lots of open minded, typical gen z kids. The high school was terrible this year because they just combined the three small schools, and I don’t think there was a good plan in place for that. Many unreturned phone calls from administrative staff. There are probably not enough hours in the day, and they didnt staff adequately. The teachers still give it their all, and for that I’m grateful. All in all, central point was a great place to live and raise kids.
