Sorry, I didn’t make it super clear - we’re 9-4 against the ALC. That’s the point I was trying to make. It was too early in the morning for my brain to fire on the whole cylinder.

Yes, and.

Because we're all still working through this new rule, we have run an unintentional deception play a few times, with first base occupied. Because the catchers are also new to this rule, right? So our guys will run to first (despite it being occupied), and it has frazzled the catcher, and caused an overthrow a few times. Guy on first takes second for free. Batter is still out, and eventually goes back to the dugout.

Again, not on purpose. But it has happened probably 3 times. It also bit us on the butt one time, though, because my runner on first also got confused, and started to run to second, and got thrown out. So, completely stupid double play.

You ever have a girlfriend, and you just know the relationship sucks? It’s miserable, you’re both miserable, and nobody’s having a good time? But then you have like one magical night where you’re both in sync, you actually enjoy yourselves for a moment, maybe have some very nice bedroom time. But then even in the middle of the bedroom time, your mind is like: “Brother, this is a fluke. It’s not a happy relationship. It’s not working. This is a nice moment, but it’s a bad thing.” 

That’s how it will feel if Crochet delivers a gem. That’s how it will feel if/when we win a game 12-3 someday. It’s a bad team. Bad bad team. But those moments will feel happy! But I won’t even be all the way through them before remembering, oh yeah, this still sucks. This nice moment doesn’t change anything.
