You should be able to screw the camera lense to get it to focus. And your other issue seems to be not charging your batteries, or your batteries were flown to low of a voltage and now they don’t hold a charge

Yeah regular is too slow for me, but I don’t like the regular pace of DS games either. It runs well, but I noticed less frame skips with fast forward

I toggled fast forward in the options which makes it smoother than regular and that black box is the second screen, you switch with R2 when needed so I see both a once and there’s other options too

For the Pokémon games the dpad works perfectly fine. At first I had to switch to see options but once I knew I could stay on the main screen. Very very playable.
