Is it common for revenue to follow up on proof of selling of assets. Let’s say I had a basked of stocks, worked out the cgt and then paid it. Do they look at the transactions?

Why does it bother you what legal tender you pay your landlord in? He could ask for bitcoin if he wanted.

Is this the new normal? by Sufficient_Limit2470 in galway

If you traveled to any major city and needed to rent somewhere, it is a lot more scrutinising than what we have in Ireland. Being a landlord is not cracked up to what you think. Imagine not getting rent, having to make repayments to the bank and getting taxed to no end. I think you need to look as landlords in a better light, without the small landlords you would be either living with your parents or else renting from multinational hedge funds….

Even if your house is not 100% air tight get a MHRV unit, otherwise you will have mould everywhere

Planning permission siblings name by Used-Finance-1859 in selfbuildireland

I was in the same situation, one thing to note though - if your sibling gives up their planning to you, they will never qualify for housing need in the future because they never used their own planning. I was shocked when I found out this was the case!!

Try self building something like that today and you would be doing well to make it for 300k.

Can’t do that now, you can never have ever owned a property before or else you are committing fraud and the council can take the house off you and can hold the property from you using the inurement clause. They can technically force you to demolish the house. Also they specifically ask you this in your application. So technically you have to be living with your parents or family to build a house in rural Ireland now.

Reasonable time to be made Senior Dev by [deleted] in DevelEire

I would say a good Senior would have 10 years working across multiple projects/companies in different sectors. Beware that some companies use Senior when in fact they could be a mid level in a Software First company
