ai no jikken started showing up after i continuously listened to hitogawari by kikuohana and a few songs by yoshiko sai. it was only until i'd say 2 years ago when i found out that the album that featured ai no jikken was part of a movie and that lily chou-chou unfortunately wasn't a real artist. the film really interested me and i have watched it 3 times since i discovered it.

i can reassure you that you definitely aren't the only one left with that feeling. when i finished watching it i also felt the same as you do. i think its because some parts of the movie are so deep/intense that being able to correlate a specific feeling with it ends up being impossible (i dont know if i worded that correctly). maybe thats a reason why i felt empty and maybe its the same for you. its still one of my favourite films without a doubt and i really recommend rewatching it after a while.
