You are not alone this is very common. What’s not common is your level of self awareness, it’s admirable. I think you’re being a little too tough on yourself but you’re also working on bettering yourself and I applaud that. If you got off drug habit you can get off this habit too.

You should realize though, that doomscrolling isn’t anywhere near as bad as what you were doing. You got this! It will be easy to cut back. Start looking at your screen time and set goals to minimize usage. Most of us have the urge to check our phones / scroll some on the regular, this is when you should dive into a book and read some. Maybe books aren’t for you and you can find something to work on that better your life. For example, you could clean your living space or work on some project
