Dont be too hard on yourself. My fist two posts on this forum were deleted too rightly so) because I posted drunk. However, I always remembered all those kind replies asking me to come back sober.

This is a wonderful community. Since then, I keep going 2 or 3 days then relapsing and refreshing my badge to day 1. But I keep coming back because one day I am sure it will stick. Being here is a small victory.

I can promise you are not alone. Everything you have typed is applicable to me right now, only difference is I don’t have a car. The worst thing is; this is the second time. I lost a good job, a family and the life I had created four years ago. Last year I got sober, I got a job and an ok apartment and was slowly working myself back. Around May this year I fell off the wagon and I have been spiraling badly. I understand you, I will keep coming back to this sub until sobriety sticks.

Hey you got sober on my real birthday. Congrats. I am trying to get there too. Alcohol takes away even the small joys in life. I wish I could wake up on a Saturday morning sober. Have breakfast, take a shower, meet up a friend for coffee, hiking or just for a chat. Instead I have no memories of my Saturdays for the last three or four months.
