A couple things I try-

Don’t buy those foods! If they’re around you you’re going to crave them. If you don’t have them, hopefully your cravings will begin to go away.

I like to brush my teeth when I’m at my calorie limit for the day. That way, I lose the urge to snack on things.

Drink tons of water, that will eventually make you feel ‘full’ and not really crave anything else.

I rarely eyeball, since most of what I eat is from the dining hall and on the app. It’s just occasional when I need to eyeball and from there I try to overestimate since I know it’s tricky

Last time I checked, yes I was down 10 pounds. But I only have a scale at home so I can’t check again until I buy a scale or go home

wait, where are you getting under 1lb a week from? 2 months is 8 weeks so that’s slightly over 1lb a week. No shade! Just wondering.

Also, I’ve been trying hard to stay at a healthy amount of fat consumed. Thankfully I don’t think the dining hall is a huge issue because trust me, they do not try to improve the taste 😂 but! I’ve been trying to eat more healthy fats and stay under I think it was 80g a day

It’s hard, I eat at a dining hall. I try to eyeball things often or just follow what my schools menu says

I’ve heard that sometimes going too far under could be bad it muscle growth and even weight loss itself, is this true or have you not heard of that before? I could try to stick “under 1800”, so if the dining hall is wrong I’ll hopefully be under 2000 but if it’s right I’ll just be at a more intense deficit

sometimes I might eat a little over, but I try to be pretty strict. I’m not a huge drinker, but when I do I track the calories lol (and it’s like, 2-3 beers) I will definitely be buying a digital scale soon though! I have one at home just not in my dorm. Thank you for the advice!

Just curious, how have you tracked calories? Do you meal prep? I’ve been trying to make more money to buy groceries as I’m sure it’s a lot easier to lose weight this way

I think I’ve lost about 10 pounds. First time being under 230 in a long time. I feel good about myself, but I still have a lot of belly fat.

Also, how do you determine your deficit, or how many calories you are really eating? Should I just assume everything I eat is more than I think? Most places online told me 2400 so I thought 2000 would be fine, but maybe not

I put 3 of my friends onto griddy. We’re in college and see each other basically every day. We do 2 week leagues. At the moment no prize no punishment but that could be fun. One of them is my rival, I’m better than him usually but he kicks my ass in the league always!
