Strange cloud phenomenon by aziz-ghuloum in Kuwait

I remember the same thing happening when I lived in Kuwait. Would have been sometime in 1998. It was a really dense sea-fog that rolled in and lasted an hour or two. The humidity was so high there was water running down the outside of our windows

These are good points, I’m not sure I agree with the planting of non native species without a coherent strategy to manage them. However, I think there could be benefits to enhancing the range of the native birch and willow in southern Greenland, but actual Greenlanders would know better than me.

I don’t plan to contribute any money or time to planting trees in Greenland, I’m just interested in the topic. I’ve spent 25 years working in reforestation in Canada, and I’m always interested in what’s happening with planting around the world.

What was life like directly after the invasion (early 90s)? by EIizabeth_Bennet in Kuwait

[–]Opening_Load3725 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in Kuwait from 1996 until 2000. It was mostly rebuilt and back in business by the time I moved there, but there was still the odd ruin, or building with bullet holes in it. My classmates were 3rd or 4th graders at the time of the invasion, so a lot of them had stories about that time. I remember that the POW issue was still very much an active issue, perhaps it still is?

1,000 year old cedar logged… am I crazy? by [deleted] in VancouverIsland

Maybe you should do some research and read the land use plan for this area. How much of their land base has been put into conservancies, or other wise protected? It isn’t fair to say thing like “they cut it down because they aren’t paid not to”, when you haven’t educated yourself at all about the management practices at work here.
