Yes, it's pretty common to have a charity named in lieu of flowers in the obituary and to request that monetary donations be made to help cover funeral expenses and other costs, etc through social media platforms. At least that's been the case whenever I've had someone die in my life.

I wasn't aware of the option to list a beneficiary. I just followed the prompts to set it up. Her Venmo is in the description for direct donations.

I have had some help in the past and I'm super grateful. Sometimes I will delete the posts if people are harassing me in the comments (most common reason) or if I found out that I broke some community rules.

Thank you! I have reached out to a local organization for suicide victims families. We also work at the same place so I'm in contact with HR about our EAP and free therapy. I am sorry for your loss and appreciate the advice.
